Salt Lake City - ARE YOU READY?!?! 🎸 This Saturday, June 13th, 8 of SLC’s newest bands are taking the stage at Soundwell - and every single song they play was written THIS WEEK.

These young musicians met some creatures this week at camp - maybe you’ve met them too? The Fluster, the Scoffer, the Tangle, the Muddle, and the Imprint showed up and they named them, tamed them, and made music alongside them. Now they’re ready for the stage!

Rock Camp SLC’s Session 1 Showcase is FREE, all ages, and open to the whole community. Doors open at noon. RSVP link in bio.

These musicians are girls, transgender, non-binary, gender-expansive youth and others who help us fulfill our mission! They showed up Monday at East Hollywood High with some excitement mixed with anxiety and are walking out Saturday as a band. Their volunteer mentors donated their time, their skills, and their whole hearts to make it happen.

This concert is also a fundraiser — we’re raising $10,000 this summer to keep Rock Camp SLC running on a sliding scale so no camper is ever turned away. Snacks in the hallway, strings on the guitars, and music in the hands of every kid who wants it. Donation link in bio.

Don’t panic — it’s Rock Camp Magic. Come see it live. 🤘

📍 Soundwell — 149 W 200 S, Salt Lake City 🕛 Doors at noon 🎟️ Free + all ages — RSVP required (link in bio)

♿🚻 Soundwell is ADA accessible with a seated section and wheelchair spaces near the front of the stage. Gender neutral bathrooms are available. For additional accessibility needs, email [email protected].

Last month, a former member of the Rock Camp SLC community shared social media posts alleging financial mismanagement, misuse of resources, and failures related to youth safety within Rock Camp programming.

These allegations are not accurate. Due to the seriousness of these allegations, we have sought legal counsel and are pursuing appropriate legal remedies. On advice of counsel, we will not comment further on pending legal matters.

For nearly ten years, Rock Camp SLC has been dedicated to empowering girls, transgender, non-binary, and gender-expansive youth through music education, collaboration, and performance. Throughout our history, we have operated with a strong safety record and a consistent commitment to the wellbeing of our campers and volunteers. The safety, creativity, and growth of our campers and volunteers remain our highest priorities.

Rock Camp operates under the governance of a Board of Directors and maintains policies regarding financial oversight and conduct within our programs. We implement yearly criminal background checks, registry searches, volunteer agreements, and maintain codes of conduct that apply to all participants during official Rock Camp programming.

Our responsibility is to create and maintain a safe, affirming, and accountable environment within the scope of our official programs and events. When concerns arise within Rock Camp programming, we address them through processes designed to prioritize youth safety and uphold our community standards.

Our responsibility is to the youth and volunteers participating in our official programs and events. While we cannot control conduct outside of our programming, we take seriously any concerns that may affect the safety and wellbeing of our participants. Our focus remains on ensuring that our programming is safe, structured, aligned with our values and community agreements.

We remain committed to our mission and to the families & community who place their trust in us. We will continue providing a safe, creative, and affirming space for the youth and families we serve. We look forward to continuing our work and welcoming our community for another powerful year of camp.
