Happy Charter Day to the devastating women of the Greater Salt Lake Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.! 🎉🔺

On May 1, 1988, ten Wasatch Front Black professional women, representing the fields of social work, computer technology, education, and law, chartered a new alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the first and only chapter in the entire state of Utah. 🏔️⛷️

On April 5, our Soror, Kandis Thorpe, joined alongside Dr. Richard Ferguson, President of the Black Physicians of Utah, to discuss a new free swimming program in Utah working to help people learn water safety skills on the KUTV 2News morning show, ARC Salt Lake. This vital conversation emphasized awareness, prevention, and ensuring our community have the knowledge and resources to stay safe. 🛟🏊🏾

GSLAC is proud to highlight our continued collaboration with the Black Physicians of Utah advancing health equity, education, and mental health awareness in our community. 🥼❤️

It is week three of Financial Fortitude Month! We have covered how to build an emergency fund and debt management, but as you save and clear debt, what are you doing to increase your income?

Skills investment is the place to start. Whether building your skillset around AI, project management, or digital marketing, investing in yourself in this way can upgrade your income and overall financial stability.

Your Action: Identify one skill gap in your current or target role. Find one free course or certification

Your Goal: Enroll in the course this week and complete the course in the allotted course duration time, if possible.

Employment may come and go, but skills are with you for a lifetime. Invest in yourself and your future. You're in the driver's seat!

SISTERHOOD MONTH IN ACTION 💜❤️🤍

March is Sisterhood Month, and the Greater Salt Lake Alumnae Chapter showed up, showed love, and showed OUT all around town! ✨⛰️

From cheering on our Soror Love-Day’s talented daughter Naomi at Pointe CounterPointe during Deltas in the Stands, 🩰 to striking up fun and fellowship at Sisterhood Bowling Night 🎳, and closing the weekend in faith and unity at Fellowship Sunday at True Vine Baptist Church ⛪.

This month is an annual reminder that our bond is a lifelong connection rooted in love, support, and service.

Delta Sigma Theta was represented at the Utah Jazz vs. Sacramento Kings game on February 12 at the Delta Center. The Jazz acknowledged Black History Month with Divine 9 Night, honoring the rich history and legacy of the nine historically Black Greek Letter Organizations. Chris McKinley, chapter president of the Pi Xi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. - Utah, organized a unity stroll that was performed and showcased on the screen during the game.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority member and Utah Jazz journalist Nayo Campbell interviewed Soror Michelle Love-Day and chapter presidents of other local D9 orgs in Utah.✊🏾🏀✨

Congratulations to our Soror and 2nd VP Michelle Love-Day for receiving the NAACP Salt Lake Branch’s Rosa Parks Award!

It was presented at the annual Martin Luther King Jr.
Memorial Luncheon on January 19 to honor women in Utah for courage and civil rights advocacy, and recognizing individuals who embody Rosa Parks’ spirit by fighting for equality, with recipients like Love-Day for her educational work.
