University of Utah School of Medicine (Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine) opened its doors, hosting the next generation of medical students in a welcome event, where they were able to connect with classmates, meet members of the medical school community, and celebrate the start of their journey toward becoming physicians.
As first-year MD students, they will receive a stethoscope made possible through the generosity of our donors - a meaningful reminder that our community is investing in their success from day one. Thank you to everyone whose support helps equip and inspire the next generation of physicians.

Pursuing medicine at the University of Utah Health is a lifelong dream of Derrick Wong, MD Class of 2027. Now, as an Educational Resource Development Council (ERDC) Scholarship recipient, Derrick is channeling his passion into Interventional Radiology and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.

When Derrick isn't diving into innovative medical technology or patient care, he's staying creative with 3D design and animation or catching a game of pickleball.
