Pharmacists spend so much of their time caring for others—but our mental health deserves care, too. 💚

This World Mental Health Day, take a moment to check in with yourself and the pharmacists around you. Prioritize rest, take breaks, set boundaries, lean on your team, make time for the things that bring you joy, and don’t be afraid to seek support when you need it. Small steps can make a big difference. Remember: you matter beyond the medications you manage and the patients you care for. 🫶💊

Meet Anthony, a P3 student finishing up his rotations! Originally from Southern California, he moved to Utah in 2020. Outside of pharmacy, Anthony loves spending time with his tortoise, Giorgio, and building custom old-school arcade joysticks for friends and family!

Anthony was inspired to pursue pharmacy by the pharmacists he worked with as a technician, whose dedication to patient care and underserved communities continues to motivate him today. We’re excited to spotlight Anthony and celebrate his journey in pharmacy!

📍 Lots 72 & 73: Across from the Skaggs Research Building (University of Utah College of Pharmacy) and available for weekend parking without a pass.

📍 Lot 70: Weekend parking is allowed, but do not park in reserved or metered spaces—these spaces can be ticketed any day of the week.

🎓💊 Curious about residency or exploring your future career in pharmacy?

Join us at the USHP Annual Meeting for our Resident Panel, where students will have the opportunity to hear directly from current pharmacy residents about their residency experiences, career paths, and areas of interest.

Whether you’re considering residency, trying to decide on a specialty, or simply want to learn more about the many opportunities available in pharmacy, this panel is a great chance to ask questions, gain insight, and connect with pharmacists currently navigating their own training journeys!

✨ Meet our panelists:

Yara is a PharmD graduate from the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and completed her PGY1 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency at University of Utah Health. She is currently continuing her training at University of Utah Health as a PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Resident, with a particular interest in primary care.

Aleese is a PharmD graduate from Roseman University College of Pharmacy and completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Utah Valley Hospital. She is currently continuing her training as a PGY2 Pediatric Pharmacy Resident at Primary Children’s Hospital, with a particular interest in pediatric critical care and oncology.

Erika Intrepidi, PharmD, is a PharmD graduate from the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Pharmacy, where she also earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences and a minor in Rural Health. She completed her PGY1 Acute Care Pharmacy Residency at UW Health and is currently continuing her training as a PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Resident at University of Utah Health.

Sierra Szymanski is a PharmD graduate from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and completed both her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and is currently completing her PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency at the Salt Lake City VA. Her clinical interests include pulmonology, cardiology, and diabetes.
