The Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS) has announced the recipients of its 2026 40 Under 40: Rising Leaders in Medical Transport Awards.

AMPA congratulates Brittney Bernardoni, MD, FACEP, DipRTM (RCSEd), Associate Medical Director Quality, UW Health Med Flight on being named to this exceptional group of emerging leaders.

Dr. Bernardoni serves on AMPA's Board of Trustees and frequently shares her time and talent on the faculty of AMPS (Air Medical Physician Symposium).

Dr. Bernardoni will be recognized at the AAMS Community Awards Ceremony on October 27 at 3:30PM CDT; a 40 Under 40 Reception and Recognition follows at 5:00PM CDT in the AAMS booth in the AMTC Exhibit Hall.

The 40 Under 40 Awards celebrate individuals age 40 or under who are demonstrating outstanding leadership, innovation, and excellence across all facets of medical transport, including clinical care, communications, operations, safety, advocacy, education, and administration.

The Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS) has announced the finalists for its 2026 Community Awards, which will be presented during the 2026 Air Medical Transport Conference in Fort Worth, Texas.

Among the nominees for the Marriott-Carlson Lifetime Achievement Award is AMPA member, Dr. Maja Lundborg-Gray.

The winner will be announced on Tuesday, October 27th at 3:30 pm CST at the AMTC26 "Eat Dessert First" Awards Ceremony, Fort Worth Convention Center.

Congratulations to Richard B. Utarnachitt, MD, recipient of AMPA’s 2026 Medical Director of the Year Award! This prestigious honor recognizes Dr. Utarnachitt’s outstanding leadership, dedication, and contributions to the air medical community.

Dr. Utarnachitt has been Airlift Northwest’s Medical Director for almost 15 years and remains an active flight physician. His personal touch, clinical oversight, and deep commitment to advancing academic aeromedical critical care transport are woven into the fabric of the program. According to colleagues, "Dr. Utarnachitt’s medical direction rests on the clear principle that critically ill and injured patients should receive state of the art care regardless of geography or socioeconomic circumstance.”
