Community Animal Welfare Society ( CAWS) is one of the oldest no-kill animal rescues in Utah. Over the last 25 years CAWS, our fosters and supporters have saved thousands of lives. As the largest foster home network in the state of Utah, we focus on high risk pets in need of additional care and rehabilitation

We are a FOSTER HOME BASED rescue; we do not have a shelter or physical location. All of

cats and dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date for age appropriate vaccinations & microchipped,

DOG Adoption Fees:
~ Puppies under 6 months - $300
~ Dogs 6 months to 10 years - $200
~ Dogs over 10 years (senior) - $100
*Any adopter who completes a training class with a puppy will receive a $50 refund from their adoption fee and an adopter completing a training with an adult dog (non senior) will receive a $25 refund from their adoption fee. CAT Adoption Fees:
~Kitten (Less than 1 year): Single $100, Pair $150, Trio $200
~Adult (1 thru 9 years): Single $75, Pair $100
~Mature (10+ years): Single (or Pair) $50
~Kitten adopted with an Adult: $125
*We strongly recommend that most cats have a feline "sibling" in their forever homes & therefore we offer the special pricing for pairs.

Sweet Emma has been waiting in boarding and would love nothing more than to find a foster or forever home. 🤍

Emma recently spent the weekend with a temporary foster, who described her as the sweetest, biggest baby. Because she’s shy at first, Emma doesn’t always show well at adoption events and can easily be overlooked. But once she feels safe and comfortable, her sweet, gentle personality truly shines.

Emma is a beautiful 3.5-year-old Great Pyrenees. She enjoys spending time with her people but also has the independent spirit the breed is known for. Emma is perfectly happy relaxing nearby, quietly keeping watch over her surroundings while still appreciating space to do her own thing. She is fully house trained and has wonderful manners in the home, making her an easy and enjoyable companion to live with.

One of Emma’s favorite things is other dogs. She loves canine companionship and enjoys playing, so she may thrive in a home with a well-matched dog friend. While she hasn’t lived with other animals, she has shown positive social skills with dogs. Her experience with cats is unknown.

Emma would do best with a patient, understanding family who can help build her confidence in new situations. She can feel anxious during car rides and may be nervous in unfamiliar places, but with consistency, gentle guidance, and time to decompress, she continues to gain confidence.

Meet Milo, an 11-pound, 6-month-old Chihuahua with so much love to give❤️

Milo may be tiny, but the world feels pretty big and overwhelming to him right now. He’s looking for a patient, gentle family who can help him continue building confidence and feeling safe. Once he settles in, his sweet and playful personality really begins to shine.

Milo absolutely loves other dogs and gets so excited when he sees them. Milo would do best in a home with a friendly, confident dog sibling who can help show him the ropes and help him feel more secure.

Milo also has a strong preference for women and children. At this time, men are very scary for him and he will need time, patience, and slow introductions to feel comfortable. Kids, however, are his favorite. His foster home has three young children, and Milo adores them. He plays with them all day, gets excited every time they walk into the room, and happily covers them in kisses.

He’s doing great with potty training and does very well when given frequent opportunities to go outside. Milo would love a secure yard where he can safely spend time soaking up the sunshine.

Because of his timid nature, Milo is not comfortable walking on leash yet. The world outside his yard still feels overwhelming, so leash training will need to happen slowly and at his pace.

Butter Bean is a loving and snuggly kitten. She loves playing with her sisters Ham Bean and Garbanzo. Aside from that she loves to be a sweetie lap kitten and watch reality TV on a Minky Couture with her human. She would love to be adopted with one (or all) of her sisters, but would thrive in a house with another cat or kitten. Fergus is the strong, quiet type — a big, handsome gray tabby with the most charming little white socks. He may be more laid back than his brother, but he’s no less loving. Fergus will come to you for pets and reward you with purrs, and his calm, gentle nature makes him a wonderful companion. He does very well with kids, dogs, and other cats, Fergus is ready for a cozy forever home — ideally with his brother Angus or another kitten by his side.
