MISSION

BAPA’s primary purpose is to provide networking opportunities for fellow Bosnian-Americans and foster continued professional growth in our community. We are planning to accomplish these goals through community outreach, mentoring programs, and a scholarship fund, while strengthening connections to our homeland. VISION

BAPA envisions an organization that will assist Bosnian-Americans in navigating the education system and aid professionals in furthering their career goals at all stages of educational and professional development.

💙 MEET SOME OF THE PROFESSIONALS & EMERGING LEADERS IN BAPA MENTORSHIP 💛

BAPA Mentorship brings together Bosnian professionals at different stages of their careers—people building their paths and people ready to share what they’ve learned along the way.

⚖️ Amora Velic is studying biology at Tufts University while working as a law clerk at an estate planning firm and preparing for law school. She hopes to pursue intellectual property law, combining her scientific background with her interest in legal advocacy.

💻 Husein Softic is pursuing a Master’s degree in International Cybersecurity Studies at Ludovika University of Public Service in Budapest while working as a freelance software engineer. His professional software-engineering experience includes work on projects for EA Sports and the Government of Brunei, and hopes to transition fully into cybersecurity.

🏙️ Adem Rizvic is a recent Urban Planning graduate with a background in Human Biology and Biomechanics from Toronto. He currently works at Fotenn Planning + Design as a Planner and hopes to build a career in real estate development and urban design, with a long-term goal of developing projects of his own.

These are just a few of the people investing intentionally in their professional growth through BAPA Mentorship. 🌱

🌟 2026 BAPA STUDENT PRESENTATIONS: Armin Kalfić

We’re excited to highlight Armin Kalfic and his upcoming presentation exploring Bosnia & Herzegovina through the lens of post-conflict recovery.

His research compares Bosnia with countries such as Rwanda, South Korea, and Lebanon, examining the political, economic, and structural factors that shape a country’s ability to recover and move forward.

Through historical research, community perspectives, and case studies, Armin explores an important question: Who has the power to rewrite this story?

Hana Kalčo’s presentation explores osteoarthritis as a growing yet often overlooked public health challenge in Bosnia & Herzegovina. Her research looks at the impact of osteoarthritis on mobility, independence, and quality of life, while highlighting the importance of prevention, awareness, and healthier aging.

This presentation highlights the importance of looking beyond the symptoms and focusing on how we can support healthier aging and improve quality of life. We look forward to hearing Hana’s research and the perspectives she brings to this important conversation. 🇧🇦

🌟 2026 BAPA Student Presentations: Iman Agić

Iman will present her research on menstrual dignity in schools and the importance of access to basic hygiene products for girls’ health, confidence, and participation in education.

Drawing from her own school experience and youth-led work in Bosnia & Herzegovina, Iman will explore how practical solutions can reduce stress, encourage open conversations, and bring students together around shared needs.
