🆘 🚨

We took Angel to an eye specialist where we found out she has glaucoma in both eyes. She is now blind on her left side due to the extreme pressure, and she is also quite painful. We will be removing that eye to get her more comfortable.

She will also be receiving a brinzolamide implant in her right eye, which is a lens that will slowly release meds for the next year or two to lower fluid pressure in her eye. This is something she’ll need to have replaced for life, but the good news is that she can keep her vision and won’t lost both eyes!

The estimate for the enucleation is here, and the enucleation and implant together will be about $2000. Can we kick off a for angel and get her the care she desperately needs and deserves? This poor mama spent the first year of her life in hell, and it’s only the good life from here 🤍 😇

!! This is our cutest and sweetest female pair, Scruff and Greybeard. They are sisters who have been in our rescue since they were just a few weeks old 😞

Did you know hardly anyone applies to adopt pairs? Most people want a friend for their current rabbit or a single rabbit (which we don’t do). That leaves most of our bonded pairs waiting YEARS 💔

Please consider adopting a pre-bonded pair for the sake of the bunnies. Bonded buns are so much happier and healthier and that’s something we stand behind.

Happy International Rabbit Day from adoptable baby Zoe. This adorable chocolate otter girl was born outside and captured by our volunteers to get her to safety and an indoor foster home. She is still a little unsure of things and would do best with a confident bunny companion to help her acclimate. Zoe is foster-to-adopt only until her spay and vaccines are complete. Message us to set up a meet and greet with baby Zoe 💘

Do you guys remember baby Teddy? We saved her from a local shelter when she was just a couple weeks old. She had surgery for entropion at 6 weeks and is nearing the time of her spay and second surgery for conjunctival overgrowth.

Once her surgery is complete, she’ll be available for adoption. If you have a bun who you think might be a good match for our Teddy, message us to get an application so you can be first in line.

Mercutio would like you all to know he’s had a glow up and now has a mane and mutton chops 😂 he also has a new lobby lobster who is his very best friend. But, he still wants a bunny companion, and he’s available for adoption now!

Angel and her baby found themselves surrendered to a local shelter in very poor health. The shelter reached out to us for help, and between the time it took us to find a foster and get them from the shelter, her baby sadly passed away. The rest of the litter died before and upon surrender.

Even though Angel is not too old, her body has obviously been used for breeding several times along with her other untreated ailments. She started pain control and antibiotics immediately upon intake, as well as a dose of revolution for her mites. She saw our vet yesterday where she had bloodwork, X-rays, ultrasound, and nasolacrimal flush. We added on treatment for e Cuniculi, antibiotic eye drops, and a second pain med.

Her infected eye is not light reactive, bulging (but pressure was tested and it’s okay), and bloody during the flush, so she’ll be seeing the eye specialist as soon as we can get her in. She also had a rounded, enlarged heart so she’s in need of an ekg as well.

Her appointment yesterday was over $500, and between spay, ekg, and eye appointments, we anticipate spending at least $2500 on her. If you can help, please donate through our fundraiser or at truehearts-rescue on Venmo or [email protected] on PayPal.

Bugs is the rare bunny who can not only take her stacky cups apart, but also restack them 😂😂 she just moved to a new foster home, and they’re working hard on socialization. She’s doing so great and even asking for pets! Our sweet girl has been to two meets and done great with other bunnies. We need to find her a bunny bond mate and forever home next!

We also recently took Bugs to the vet for a suspicious lump near her left ribs. She’ll be having minor surgery to get it removed and sent for histopathology next week. Please send her all the get well ❤️‍🩹 vibes!

We are SHOCKED that Cinder and Shadow haven’t been adopted yet. Our angora boys are so cute and sweet 🥹

These guys first got adopted five years ago when we started the rescue. They came from a terrible hoarding situation at a local “farm sanctuary.” They were returned more than a year ago due to their Adopter’s health issues and have been on the market ever since.

They’re the best boys, and it’s so heartbreaking to think that they may never experience a truly wonderful forever home 💔

Please share our boys and help us find them a home!
