We have sooo many cute pairs and single ladies looking for their forever homes right now!
This cute pair is Bennie and Clyde. We posted their sad story in March after their adopter/previous owner decided after years of having them, that cleaning her rabbit's pen 15 minutes a week was too much of a commitment. We had so many comments and interest but not one app with someone who followed through.

These guys are so clean and good about their litterbox, well behaved and sweet. They are always together either adventuring or cuddling, they are very bonded. They're both a few years old and ready to find someone who is committed to them this time. Good morning. Our rescue was contacted about these 2 yesterday. We are currently negative 3 fosters and we have no funds along with thousands in looming vet bills the next few months so it's just not possible to take these 2, but they desperately need help, ASAP. They were found in a vacated house with 7 dead cats. They are in this cage which is way too small for rabbits, especially a pair. They have been living like this for 3 years. No hay, no appropriate diet, neglected. They deserve a good life together. They're all each other has known for their entire lives. They are female unspayed and the finder believes 3 years and a little larger nethies, but not by much, maybe 1.25-1.5 kg. They are chubby from being kept in a tiny cage and an inappropriate diet. The finder only has room to keep them in a small cage in her garage and temperatures have been over 100 so this is an emergency. The shelters are full, rescues are full. If any responsible adopter, long term foster (only if we can get their care sponsored), or rescue near the Utah area has room for them, please let us know so we can help get them to a forever home where they will be loved and cared for. If anyone would like to help sponsor their care for anyone who takes them, please let us know.

We have good news and bad news about Littlefoot. She underwent decompression for bloat yesterday, which means our vet ran a tube to her stomach to release air and pull out a hairball. She woke up and has been nibbling on food.

The bad news is she still hasn’t pooped. Her belly is staying soft and compressible so we are hopeful she won’t need further surgery, but she will continue to stay on the hospital until we have the magic 💩

The second piece of bad news is that Littlefoot was in a foster to adopt home who have now decided they don’t want her back 😭 so she will be uprooted again for her recovery, which increases her stress.

We are currently negative two fosters, and we also have a third foster who needs to move back into the slc area asap so he can come to meets. We are in desperate need of more fosters.

🚨EMERGENCY🚨

Littlefoot has been hospitalized all day and is currently being tubed and decompressed due to bloat.

Her foster noticed her acting a bit off this morning and got her into our vet as soon as they opened. We did X-rays and bloodwork that showed a not-so-great gas pattern and elevated kidney values due to dehydration/shock. We immediately checked her in for a hospital stay and got her started on iv fluids and pain management protocol.

About an hour ago, our vet let us know she was continuing to bloat despite treatment and recommended passing a tube to let some of the air out of her stomach. Our hope is that this, along with aggressive medical management, will be enough without going in for surgery 🤞🤞🤞

Our bill is currently at $1800-2000. We desperately need help getting everything paid this weekend. Our clinic has also decided that starting September 1, everything not paid on the same day of services rendered will no longer be eligible for a discount. This is a huge deal for us, as we’ve spent up to $12k in a month. Please help us go into September with no balance!

A heart warming update for your start of the week. Little old man Pinecone and our special Ankaa have found love. Pinecone went to the vet to have a molar trim and while he was under anyways, we requested they do a quick neuter so he could be bonded for the last chapter of his life. Even though Pinecone is extremely old, he still was extremely humpy and hormonal making it difficult to bond him. Unfortunately while he was under, his heart rate dropped and he stopped breathing on his own in the middle of his procedures. Luckily, because we use a very skilled and competent exotic vet, they were able to get his heartrate back up and him breathing on his own. This does mean he's not a candidate for any further procedures that would require anesthesia. At first we weren't sure we made the right call and there are many people who wouldn't have made the same decision....but look at them!
In addition to him now having a friend of his own for the FIRST TIME in his entire life, he is doing soooo much better than before. People underestimate the power of having love from someone of their own species. He is eating better and maintaining his weight on his own now without needing supplemental feedings. He is so much more active now instead of just sitting in one spot. He comes running over and eats a variety of greens and pellets now. He is a completely different rabbit. He is still the cutest little old man that needs some help cleaning his bum and his eyes, but even his eyes aren't as bad because Ankaa helps keep them clean.
If you get anything from their story please understand that rabbits, with very very few exceptions, are happier with a friend. Size and age don't matter to rabbits. Rabbits are never too old to bond for the first time. We are happy to facilitate dates at our rescue to help your rabbit choose the likely best fit.

Honey, now more appropriately name Sisu, which means incredible bravery and determination, just got dropped off at our very capable vets office for her surgery today. We got her ready for her surgery this morning.

In just the short 36 hours we've had her she has come miles. We brought home a declining, shut down rabbit, and now she is so sweet and trusting. She does butt twitches while voluntarily eating her critical care! She is eating some greens and pellets on her own and finally pooping a little more normally. She comes up to the front of her cage and asks to be pet and then does tooth purrs! She even flopped this morning for the first time right after being pet. To be so trusting and grateful so soon after being rescued from the hell she came from speaks volumes about her and her species. They have such a huge capacity to move past trauma and live in the moment and to love and feel energy. They are complex creatures that take time and patience to understand, but once you do, you can't help but be drawn to them.

Please think good vibes/prayers/thoughts for her to do well through surgery today and come out to a new life pain free and being loved.

We are still very short for the cost of her surgery and first vet visit also, so if you are able to donate, we would appreciate it so much!

Hey True Hearts Family. We've been flying under the radar trying to take care of some critically sick personal and rescue rabbits and have struggled with the capacity to post, but we need to today. Yesterday right before the shelter closed we got messages about a rabbit with an injured foot that was at risk of being euthanized. They had just had a rabbit brought in by someone who had her dumped in front of their house the night before. One of our founders agreed to stop at the shelter on her way home from work and assess the rabbit if they stayed late, which they graciously did. We're going to be honest, the pictures did not even come close to doing the injury justice. We thought it would be some antibiotics maybe some special foot soaks. What we saw in person however concerned us enough that we took the rabbit straight to our vet. We have named this cute girl Honey (until a better name presents itself) and Honey's entire foot is more than twice the size of her good foot. Not only that but it appears she has been self mutilating it and there are huge chunks of skin gone. At the vet the exam and xrays reveal the true horrors she has endured. Her bad leg is shattered at the hip and her entire foot the bones appear to be flattened and pressed together. Due to the nature of these injuries it is appears something or someone ran over her foot and/or blunt force trauma. Compounding this, her other leg has a shattered and healed b***d by her ankle. This makes it difficult for her to get around right now. Because the other leg has already healed and we have dealt with many mobility challenged rabbits, we are opting to give a chance. She is currently getting a whole cupboard of meds, fluids critical care to stabilize and keep her comfortable and hopefully get her good enough for surgery tomorrow to amputate. We spent over $600 last night on diagnostics and making sure she wasn't septic and tomorrow's amputation will be 1500, with her spay further down the line which will be around 600. So in total, she will cost us at least $2700. She has been let down by humans her entire life. Her fur is in terrible shape, she has ear mites and she's not eating much on her own currently.
We have seen signs she wants to fight though. She's taking her critical care so much better today and doing tooth purrs for us. She's bright and alert and eating some of her greens.
We can't save her without help though. She will be expensive, but we can't let her leave this world thinking that was the life she deserved.

Meet Zira!! If you’re a long time follower, you may remember this cute girl from a couple years ago. Zira was adopted and bonded to a cute guy named Bun who was previously adopted by their guardian. Due to financial constraints, Zira and Bun were returned to the rescue last fall, but their adopter was able to continue fostering. In a sad twist of fate, we discovered bun had a small bump on his jaw about a week or so post surrender. We immediately had it removed and biopsied, and we found out that Bun had subcutaneous lymphoma.

Most bunnies with this fatal lymphoma only make it about a month, but with early detection and Bun’s fighting spirit, he made it 6 months after his diagnosis and was loved and spoiled every second of it.

Poor Zira has had a rough go of it: she lost her husbun and then dealt with a bout of pneumonia soon after 💔

She’s now in great shape and our number one priority is finding her a bunny to rebond with. If you think your bun and home may be the perfect fit, let us know!!
