As National Police Week comes to a close, we want to take a moment to say thank you to the men and women who put on the badge every single day and serve our communities with courage, sacrifice, and heart.
Thank you to the officers of the Sallisaw Police Department, the deputies of the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office, and the troopers of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol for the countless hours, missed holidays, late nights, and sacrifices made to protect and serve others.
This week may be ending, but the commitment these men and women make to our communities continues every day of the year. Behind every uniform is a person willing to run toward danger, answer difficult calls, and stand in the gap for others — often without recognition.
We also want to thank everyone in our community who went out of their way this week to shake a hand, say a prayer, buy a meal, send a message, or simply say “thank you.” Those gestures matter more than you know.
Here in Oklahoma, and especially here at home in Sallisaw and Sequoyah County, we are truly blessed with some of the finest law enforcement officers in the nation. Their dedication, professionalism, and service do not go unnoticed.
Please continue to keep all of our law enforcement officers and their families in your prayers — not just during National Police Week, but every day.
