One year ago to today our big guy is so strong!! You would never know everything he has been through and we are so thankful!! That day was definitely one of the longest and hardest days we had been through. Each hour we waited felt like days. Nothing could have prepared us to see him following surgery or the night that was ahead of us. We will forever be thankful that despite the complications from the tumor location and bleeding Dr Drews was able to get 100% of his main tumor!! We know he was in the right place and God was watching over him and his team!!🎗️💛💜💛

Nick is doing so good!! We had two weeks off from appointments and it felt so good! We are just busy living and enjoying the little things! We had clinic for Nick to start the last cycle of post-consolidation, this last cycle is just the pills he takes at home! He has become a pro at swallowing pills he loves to show off that he can swallow three at one time(which is pretty impressive for a kid and the two are very big) So many exciting things are coming up it feels so good to be able to breathe a little bit!! If you need us… We will be at the playground!👊🏻💛💜💛

This is a huge week for us!! Our last inpatient hospital stay (hopefully) forever!! You did it buddy and we are so proud of you!! His next cycle is just meds at home!🤗 We will not miss the uncomfortable beds and couches or being away from everyone! As excited as I am it’s so heavy for me to think of all the mamas that would do anything for just one more week in the hospital! Childhood cancer is such a thief! We will never take for granted how well he responded to treatment!! WE GOT THIS!!!👊🏻💛💜💛🎗️

Nick had a big day today…Kindergarten Registration!!! He was so excited but got nervous when we got there and he cried the entire time! So we will try again another day! I remember last year at this time how heartbroken and worried I was that he wouldn’t get to go to school or what it would look like for him So what a privilege today was even though it didn’t go as expected! So this evening we celebrated with his favorite dinner wings from Big Dogs and Ice cream from Katie’s! 👊🏻💛💜💛

Big guy has been a trooper this week! He started with an uncontrollable cough Tuesday so they had to stop his infusion. They were able to restart it at half the rate. This is a common side effect of the Dinutuximab he is on. We normally would get to leave tonight after his infusion was finished but since it is running for 20 hours instead of 10 we will be busting out first thing in the morning!!
