MS Awareness month is coming to an end, but spreading awareness for MS is a lifelong journey for me! Iβm resharing this post that explains my personal journey with MS, and hopefully some inspiration for others living with a chronic illness.
You are loved, you are valued, and you can do great things!π¦β¨
I wanted to share my personal experience with Multiple Sclerosis and my positive outlook.
At the age of 13, I developed tingling and numbness in my left hand and feet, and after MRIs I was diagnosed with Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis.
Since then, I have:
- temporarily lost my eye sight( blind completely in one eye)
-temporarily gone numb in legs and feet (my feet are tingly as we speak π)
-had countless migraines
-battled with fatigue
-numerous MRIs and blood tests
-and the list goes on.
But in that time span, Iβve also:
-started and graduated high school
-played soccer, cheered, and Irish-step danced
-served in my community
-joined a sorority
-kept & made lifelong friends
-lived by myself in Spain
-met my love
-graduated college with a degree
-found my passions
-gone on trips with my family
-started the job Iβve always dreamed of
-learned line-dancing
-and this list goes on as well.
Yes, the journey with MS is life-long, but there is so much to be thankful for along the way. I count my blessings as I know there is always someone out there who is experiencing worse.
I hope this project is bringing hope, joy, and inspiration to those who also live with a chronic illness. You are loved, you are valued, and you are capable of great things! π¦πβ¨
