The Eastern Shore Youth Action Board had a great time in Baltimore for the Point Source Youth 2026 Symposium. YAB Coordinator, Ms. Vanessa with Minary’s Dream Alliance, Incorporated and Fenix Youth Project Inc. Executive Director, Mr. Larry made sure everyone attended and presented their best self forward.

The Eastern Shore Youth Action Board creates an opportunity for young people to help shape conversations, identify community needs, and inform the strategies and systems intended to support them.

Young people should not simply be the subjects of conversations about homelessness. They should have a meaningful role in shaping the solutions.

Support our two organizations as we support the Eastern Shore Youth Action Board and work to elevate the voices, experiences, and perspectives of young people across our region. Join us for a community screening of , a documentary on youth facing homelessness and make a pledge today.

Join us next Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30 at the Sarbanes Library for a thoughtful discussion of the 2026 One Maryland One Book selection, No Sense in Wishing: Essays on Black Music, Belonging, and Baltimore, by Lawrence Burney. The book was selected under the 2026 theme of “REVOLUTION, REACTION, REFORM,” seeking stories that highlight moments of change and transformation.

Released in 2025, the book is an essay collection from culture critic Lawrence Burney that is a personal and analytical look at his home city of Baltimore, music from throughout the global Black diaspora, and the traditions that raised him. Together, we'll explore the book's themes of identity, belonging, place, and the power of music to connect generations and cultures.

We hope to see you there!

Every Young Person Deserves a Place to Call Home

Community Film Screening & Pledge Campaign - Presented in partnership by Minary’s Dream Alliance, Incorporated and Fenix Youth Project Inc.

In recognition of Youth HOPE Month, MDA and FYP are partnering to host a community film screening that brings attention to youth homelessness, housing instability, and the power of community action.

Young people experiencing homelessness are often unseen. Some sleep in cars or shelters, while others move between friends’ homes, stay with relatives temporarily, or face housing situations that are unsafe or unstable. Without intentional outreach, many of these young people can be missed by traditional homelessness counts and service systems.

This event is an opportunity to learn, connect, and take action.

Admission is FREE. Making a pledge is completely optional. Guests may choose to support Minary’s Dream Alliance, Fenix Youth Project, both organizations, or simply attend the screening.
