🐾 Transport to Foster for Sweet Adoptable Buddy 🐾

Rides2Rescue was honored to help Peace of Mind Dog Rescue transport this precious boy, Buddy, to his foster home in Boulder Creek. Every mile matters when it comes to giving dogs like him a second chance at love.

Buddy is a 10-year-old black Lab mix with a heart as big as they come. At around 60 pounds, he’s the perfect gentle companion—low maintenance, easygoing, and happiest just being by your side. Whether it’s a short stroll or a cozy nap, Buddy is all about the simple, meaningful moments.

This sweet senior recently lost his home when his beloved guardian moved into a nursing facility. Despite the change, Buddy remains incredibly loving, trusting, and ready to bond with his next person. He just needs a calm, caring home where he can feel safe and cherished again.

✨ Buddy is currently in need of a forever home. ✨

There’s a part of what I do with Rides2Rescue that I don’t usually share.

Before transport, before coordination… there’s the quiet, harder work—searching for and trying to secure stray dogs and cats. It takes time, patience, and a lot of heart. Not every story has a happy ending, but every one matters.

Recently, a dog was spotted on Reservation Road and made her way into South Salinas, into the fields near my home. I saw her, and with the help of others, we tried everything we could to secure her. She was scared and kept running. I had to leave town for work, and she was reported to animal services. Days passed with no luck.

Then on Wednesday morning, I saw a post about a deceased shepherd near 101 and John Street. I drove there, and it was her.

I brought her off the side of the road and took her to the shelter. She didn’t have a microchip. No one had reported her missing. But she looked cared for… like she belonged to someone, somewhere.

I may never know her story. But I saw her, and I cared. And I wanted to help her—no matter the outcome.

May she rest in peace… along with the others I’ve picked up from the roadside. To some, they may just be another dog. But to me, they are seen. They are valued. They matter. Always. 🐾

If you ever have the time, this is something you can do too. Even the smallest effort can mean everything.

Another beautiful rescue day on the road for Rides2Rescue!

Sweet Chablis and darling senior Perlita began their journey leaving Hitchcock Road Animal Services Saturday morning. It was an early pickup as I headed out to meet their rescue partners and start their next chapter of their lives.

Our first stop was in Modesto, where Chablis, a beautiful 4-year old Labrador Retriever, was welcomed into the care of Calpaws K9 Rescue. This sweet girl now has a bright future ahead filled with love, patience and training.

Next, I continued on to Jamestown, where sweet senior Perlita, a tiny Chihuahua, was delivered safely into the loving arms of Second Chance Cocker Rescue. Senior dogs hold such special places in my heart, and seeing her welcomed so warmly made me so happy.

A special thank you to Gina Wolf, Rescue Coordinator at Hitchcock Road Animal Services, who works tirelessly every day to save as many lives as possible. Your dedication makes these lifesaving journeys possible.

Please consider adopting, fostering, or volunteering — there are so many ways to help and every effort makes a difference.

Thank you to everyone who supports Rides2Rescue and makes these lifesaving transports possible. 🐾

Rides2Rescue Saturday Transport 🐾

Three lucky pups — Franklin, Zorra, and Skipper — headed off to their next chapter today! They traveled from Hitchcock Road Animal Services all the way to Miranda’s Rescue.

This was a 12-hour round trip transport — leaving at 8 AM and returning home at 8 PM — and these three were the best little passengers the whole way. 🚐🐶

I’m always grateful to help support our local shelter and work alongside rescue coordinator Gina Wolf, helping get dogs safely to rescues where their new lives can begin.

Every transport means more kennel space, more chances, and more lives saved. ❤️

If you’d like to help support transports like this, gas donations are always appreciated to keep the wheels moving and more dogs on their way to safety. ⛽🐾

Franklin, Zorra, and Skipper — your next adventure starts now. 💛

Before launching Rides2Rescue, I worked hands on securing stray and lost dogs — gaining the trust of pups living in survival mode. It was rewarding and I met other wonderful people that share the same heart as mine, but it was very heartbreaking at the same time. A year and a half ago created Rides2Rescue (providing transport from shelters to rescue partners) — it gave me a way to balance my health, full time work, caring for aging family members yet still being able to work with dogs, cats and other animals with a need that is in demand.

There are always certain situations that reach deep into my heart — the ones I simply can’t turn away from. Those are the moments I feel most called to help. 🐾

In February, I learned about a dog dumped along Highway 183 between Castroville and Salinas. She’d been surviving since Thanksgiving — fed by kind farm workers but too scared to be touched. They called her Lobo.

I began sitting with her when I could — feeding, talking, just being present. Yesterday, she rolled onto her back, licked my hand, and let me leash her. 💛

She is now safe at Hitchcock Road Animal Services, decompressing after months in survival mode. No chip. Just a beautiful girl who deserves a forever home.

This is why we do what we do. 🐾✨

Rides2Rescue – End of February Transport! 🐾🚐

This weekend I transported 6 amazing dogs to the SPCA of Santa Cruz County — from Hitchcock Road Animal Services.

Chip, Evie, Steele, Kristoff, Harry, and Koda are officially on their next chapter toward loving homes!

And a very special mention for Rudy 🥹💛
He made his freedom exit to his CalPawsRescue foster.

Rudy has held a special place in my heart. You could see the trauma on him physically… but not once did he let it harden him. No bitterness. No fear holding him back. Just quiet hope.

Now he begins his new life — one filled with safety, patience, and unconditional love.

This is why we drive. This is why we show up.
Every mile matters. 🐾💕

🐶Every Ride Matters: Help a Dog Reach Safety🐶

Today, I had the joy of transporting two amazing pups from Hitchcock Road Animals Services to their new foster homes through Wonder Dog Rescue (San Francisco):

✨ Luisa – a 2-year-old Boston Terrier, found as a stray
✨ Clyde – a 3-year-old French Bulldog, also found as a stray

We met at Snow Park in Oakland, CA, and both pups were fantastic travelers. They’re now officially on their way to new lives filled with care and stability.

The best part? We’re already getting great reports from their foster homes—Luisa and Clyde are settling in, decompressing, and finally getting the rest and comfort they deserve after life on the streets.

Did you know that $50 covers the cost of transporting a shelter dog to safety at a rescue?

If you’re able to donate, your support directly helps dogs like Luisa and Clyde take that critical step from shelter to safety. Every ride matters. Every dollar helps. 💙

Thank you for supporting rescue transport and second chances 🐾✨
