WEB: www.projectbear.com I lost my son, Jeremiah, in April 2008, so I started Project BEAR in his memory. I was 37 weeks into what seemed like a healthy and normal pregnancy, then he was gone. No warning, no explanation, even after an autopsy. My son Vincent died at 13 days old due to an infection just 14 months later.

Today is International Bereaved Mother's Day, a day we acknowledge the many mothers who hold their precious children not in their arms, but in their hearts. We want you to know that we see you, we see the love you continue to carry, and understand how difficult it can be to feel whole on this day.

Please know that however you choose to walk through this day, we are holding you close as you do. Be gentle with your heart, and honor your motherhood in whatever way feels right to you.

While a child's life may be brief, we know that a mother's love endures forever.

Oh Jeremiah, my sweet baby boy. You have touched so many lives. And we’re not stopping here. God surely has lived up to His promise. He is indeed faithful to uplift, as your name suggests. He truly is the God of all comfort. And each bear that brings empty arms reprieve brings a little of His comfort. And that is no little thing. May all the babies in heaven celebrate with you tomorrow. I will be celebrating you here on earth and in my heart, until I can hold you again and kiss your sweet face. I love you ❤️

In 2026, Hannes Ringoot will run 12 marathons in 12 months to raise awareness of placental health and preventable stillbirth after his daughter Ellory was stillborn due to an undetected small placenta.

The Racing Awareness campaign aims to start conversations about placental measurement in prenatal care and connect with families who share similar experiences.
