Hello to those reading this. It's time for our monthly update.

Food and three oxygen tanks with carts were delivered to the local community over the past weekend. We were also able to help one elderly couple with retaining utility services.

In total, nine families received groceries to cover basics, for the entire month of January.

Next month we will be working with a local food bank to help families with difficulties meeting rising food costs and need. After that we will be involved in some house clean up projects.

Thanks to those who contributed and a special thanks to Target Corporation, without whose assistance this would not have been possible.

Hello to our followers.

This month the Coalition will be helping the homeless in a specific Oregon country community.

We will be out there providing wool knit gloves, hats and hand warmer packets to those in need in Grants Pass. A warm meal to go is included.

This is to show the homeless that while some communities may show hate, we see those in need as human beings. People. In need of help.

People are what we care about.

Helping is why we exist.

Hello out there. We at the ECC hope you and your loved ones are able to spend time together during this holiday season.

We would like to announce that our first outreach of the year will be in January. It will strictly be in the form of food supplies and in a couple of pre-approved instances we are providing oxygen tanks to two individuals in need.

In the future we may consider opening up our coalition to receiving open public donations. However, as stated in previous posts, we do not allow media exploitation or photos/recordings of those we help. We also do not accept any donations with any conditions attached, nor do we tolerate barriers to assistance.

If we eventually accept donations those falling within the mentioned areas will be rejected as non-compliant in that, in the long run, they actually cause harm to people.

We do not accept requests for help directly in most cases. We are not a list compiling group as we seek to avoid the liabilities of such list maintenance and protections. We select those we provide assistance to by using established lists of those in need and offering help from those lists.

Our efforts and agreements allow us to contact people and on such lists only by free choice. If people on those lists selected privacy our coalition receives no information about them and thus, we can not offer them assistance. It's state law and we follow it.

We are very selective about which groups we work with and what lists we accept for assistance. If barriers to assistance are found to exist by any action or policy, we reject that group for assistance. Help must be provided without manipulation or control attached. We can not and will not work with any group failing to meet such a basic human standard.

Thank-you for understanding.

Happy Holidays.

The ECC would like to thank those groups currently offering assistance to this organization. We would also like to thank those seeking assistance for reaching out to our coalition.

We will be performing another public outreach for food provision in January.

We are not able to accept assistance from organizations placing barriers to food provision. Should such groups remove barriers to receiving assistance, then we can consider your application again at that time. You will need to provide proof of barrier removal.

Please note, if barriers are replaced after qualifying for assistance then such assistance will be removed. Removal of barriers to food provision must be proven and maintained in order to receive ECC resources.

Thank-you.

After going through inventory of discounted food purchases the decision was made to go out this evening and feed local people. Human beings, who are without housing.

Warm stew with a high protein and carbohydrate content were provided by health code standards, along with warm sandwiches and beverages.

Sixty-two people are fed tonight due to the generosity of our donors and the faithful effort of three of our volunteers who also hold board positions. At this coalition, we put in the effort.

We encountered law enforcement who checked our legal status, for helping...not for citizenship. After verifying our status they joined in and helped for about half an hour. They served food and helped clean up a bit. It was quite the experience.

We also encountered drive by hate. Several cars had someone yelling to stop helping while hurling vile insults and the vulnerable people we helped. A few said we were only creating dependants. I find it sad that some of the least informed decide to spew hate on the topic of people in crisis but that is the society we live in now.

It was interesting to note how many of those cars with hate coming out of them had religious bumper stickers on display.

When hate is shown from the top, it makes it feel safe for those harboring it to creep out of the places they hide. They bask in the sunlight and spread that. I hope that statement isn't lost on everyone but I have no hope for those carrying the current hate. It permeates our communities through those carriers, like some devastating disease.

We will keep helping people in spite of that hate. In fact, we are fueled by it.

May you be safe and warm this cold season and may you have real love in your lives.

Please consider volunteering at a warming station for those without homes this holiday season.

While some communities see homelessness as a crime and some people as undeserving of compassion, we at the ECC do not.

By volunteering at a warming station you give others hope, human dignity and life saving warmth...at a time when warmth has been lost by so many in our community.

Warmth of heat, warmth toward others.

Let's encourage some of that this holiday season.

Fifty families received fifty turkeys, complete with all of the traditional Thanksgiving trimmings today thanks to coalition efforts.

Thank-you to Safeway for working with our organization to provide each bag of groceries at a discounted price. Thank-you also to our in house volunteers who helped deliver those bags of groceries Monday so those in need could plan a family dinner.

Please stay aware of others needs the holiday season. If you are able, please consider donating to a food bank that does not place barriers to help.

We at the ECC do not require a faith statement, a political one or require any kind of program or sermon attendance to receive assistance. If you have a need and we can help then we do. Simple. No barriers of manipulation included.

Happy Holidays as we think of others in need.

The Eclectic Community Coalition would like to announce that we have recently partnered with two local shelters providing warming stations for homeless people this winter.

We have been able to donate over one hundred sets of home knitted scarfs, beanies and mittens to those in need. People who use the warming stations will have an opportunity to receive these items for free, as a set, while supplies last.

This effort is the direct result of a very few local area college students. They came up with the idea a year ago, before this coalition was started. The plan was laid in place then to start spinning yarn to keep people warm.

Now, after long months of hard work and an agreement to help these students reach out to others, the ECC has been the liaison to bring together those in need with those who have a desire to help. The project represents over six thousand dollars ($6,000.00) in donated materials alone with no estimate on the hundreds of hours or cost to produce.

Coming soon we will be offering the same home knitted match sets for sale with the additional option of slippers! These will be hand made to size and order, won't be mass produced quickly and will be priced accordingly. All profits will be donated to local community development projects that benefit local populations.

Happy Holidays to everyone and please, during this time of year, consider volunteering at a local homeless shelter, food bank or any other non-barrier to assistance group providing help to others.

Thank-you and get involved in your community!

The Eclectic Community Coalition would like to announce our first community project is a success! We are excited to share that over five thousand dollars worth of food has been delivered to local families for November.

We would like to thank Safeway, Garnets and the two private cash donors who made this possible. Many people will have food and now know they have a thanksgiving dinner coming.

For this first effort, we worked with specific families in need. We partner with other organizations, on a project by project basis, who compile such lists as that is outside our efforts. Our part comes in meeting the need already identified. Especially when it comes to food drives.

Many of our donations are made to carefully selected food banks in our local community who assist people in need. They do not discriminate based on race, gender, religion or any other factor. Further, we believe that forcing people to participate in any belief system or institution to get food is inherently wrong.

We are serious about helping people here. Placing compliance barriers between people and food to control or manipulate is something the coalition is well aware of and we build alternatives to it here.

Our board is made up of PhD holding, disaster prevention planning & city development trained individuals who specialize in strengthening communities while guarding against efforts that undermine them. Our board is a dedicated group of people who are against such institutionalized and controlling efforts.

Compliance barriers to food must stop.

To all of those who face food security challenges during these upcoming holidays, please check your local food banks. If you can consider donating to a food bank this holiday season please consider one that does not require some program attendance, some political affiliation or a religious one just to get food.

We wish we could help everyone. We will do that which we are able too with our limited resources.

Food drives aren't the only projects we get involved with or develop. Check back for updates.

Thank-you.
