Come out to support local artists and poets! Today at 4pm we will have Leah Lee, a local q***r comedian sharing some of her original work!
Leah Lee is a writer from Salem Oregon. Leah grew up in Salem. Leah started writing poetry at 9 years old. She would write love poems inspired by Shakespeare to fellow girl classroom crushes. Leah studies in college included poetry writing classes. Leah fell in love with the writings of Ralph Waldo Emerson, Walt Whitman and D.H Lawrence. Her poetry reflects these writers. She uses nature to express her emotions and experiences. Leah also enjoys writing short stories and comedic writing. She is also a local stand up comedian. Writing doesn't come easily for Leah as she is dyslexic but regardless of her barriers with writing, writing is her passion. The poem she is reading pertains to the ending of her 15 year marriage.
