Dear motorists and non-horse people! Please donāt pull into the ābig gapā in front of a horse trailer. That space isnāt for slow driving, itās our braking distance. If you cut us off and stop suddenly, we canāt stop in time. Inside the trailer, our horses need us to drive gently, especially around curves, so they can stay balanced. A sudden jerk can cause serious injury or even flip the whole trailer.
Look at this photo: the mare barely has room to steady herself. Her foal stands right beneath her. She knows a misstep could hurt her baby, so she stays as still as she can. I can only help her if Iām allowed to drive with care. Please think twice. Most people donāt mean harm, they just donāt know. So letās spread this message out and change that.
