During the past year, our board members tried to find every available avenue to remain in operation to continue serving our agriculture communities after serving community members in need last spring, following disastrous storms in the area with assets we had on hand through previous donations. Unfortunately, we were not able to fundraise and continue operating following the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions followed by economic inflation. With that said we are announcing we are no longer a nonprofit after filing for dissolution and being approved to dissolve. Through the process, we were able to bless Mending Arrow Ranch with LADR assets as a part of the dissolution process. We no longer are operational to serve you in your time of need however, we can continue to use this page for emergency resources when you are in need during an emergency. We all with LADR appreciate the support you gave us during our operational years and are saddened there was not a path forward.
Please feel free to reach out for resources to continue your farms of all sizes. TN offers many incentives for existing and even new farm start-ups as well as conservation on your existing property if you were put in a position to sell or will during this unprecedented time of growth and loss of generational interest. Hamilton and surrounding counties also offer FFA and 4-H programs for school-aged youth to reinvigorate the farming and livestock ownership spirit.

Genesis 2:15 “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.”(2) We recognize that all created things belong to God (3) and that we are accountable to Him as stewards of the creation.

The State Veterinarian’s office has confirmed two cases of Potomac horse fever. One is in Rutherford County and the other in Dekalb County.

Freshwater snails are the source of the bacteria that causes Potomac horse fever. Horses may be exposed when drinking from creeks or rivers, and can then suffer from colic, fever, and diarrhea. Potomac horse fever has not been found to directly transmit from horse to horse.

We urge horse owners to be sure their horses are protected by using best management practices, which includes consulting with your local veterinarian for appropriate vaccination needs and schedules.

• Regularly disinfect stalls, water buckets, feed troughs, and other equipment
• Eliminate standing water sources where disease-carrying insects may gather and breed
• Avoid co-mingling your horses with other, unfamiliar horses

Potomac horse fever is NOT a known threat to human health.
