You are invited to join our upcoming **Community Planning Meeting** and be part of the conversation focused on building a stronger, more connected, and more inclusive Tampa Bay community. This monthly gathering brings together families, self-advocates, disability advocates, nonprofit organizations, businesses, educators, healthcare professionals, community leaders, and local partners to share resources, discuss community needs, and explore opportunities for collaboration.

**Tuesday, August 11, 2026**
**5:30 PM – 6:30 PM**

**Meetings are held monthly on the second Tuesday of each month.**
During our Community Planning Meetings, participants will have the opportunity to:
Share community updates and upcoming initiatives
Connect with local organizations and advocates
Exchange resources and information
Identify partnership opportunities
Discuss ways to improve accessibility, inclusion, and opportunities for individuals with disabilities and their families
Whether you are a family member, caregiver, advocate, community organization, business, or someone passionate about making a difference — your voice and participation matter.

Together, we can strengthen partnerships, share resources, and create meaningful opportunities throughout the Tampa Bay area.

At this month's Awards & Presentations ceremony, the City Council of St. Petersburg, led by Mayor Kenneth T. Welch, joined the Citizens Advocating for Persons with Impairments (CAPI) Committee, a division of the City of St. Petersburg, in recognizing the 36th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

On July 16, 2026, individuals associated with the Empowered Abilities Foundation, PARC Center for Disabilities, several community nonprofit organizations, disability advocates, and community leaders gathered in the City Hall Chambers as the official ADA Proclamation was read, reaffirming our community's commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and equal opportunity for all.

The ADA has transformed countless lives over the past 36 years, and while we celebrate how far we've come, we also recognize the importance of continuing to remove barriers and create a more inclusive future.
