Today we pause from Mission Monday to honor and remember those who gave their lives in service to our country.

May our gratitude be reflected not only in our words, but in how we live.

Each Monday we highlight nonprofits that are already part of the ecosystem we are building.

Today we are spotlighting three organizations that have shown up at both Do Good Day, St. Pete's premiere nonprofit fair, and Do Good Together, our leadership-level gathering where the real conversations that lead to collaboration happen.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay matches children facing adversity with caring adult mentors across nine counties, with a mission to ignite the power and promise of youth through one-to-one relationships built to last. There are many ways to support that mission and one of the easiest through their BBBS license plates. Each one sold funds the programs that make those matches possible. It is more than a license plate, it is an investment in a child's future. Get yours at www.bbbstampabay.org/give/license-plate

Woven Anew is a thrift boutique on Central Avenue in St. Pete whose mission is to build self-worth in young women through mentorship, education and fashion, with proceeds funding free programs for survivors of trafficking and abuse. They just launched Identity Rooted in Truth, a referral-only workshop for young women ages 12 to 25 navigating trauma and life transitions. Email [email protected] for details.

Show Up Relief Alliance was born from Hurricanes Helene and Milton with a mission to provide disaster preparedness and hands on relief at no charge to communities that need it most. Living in Tampa Bay we know this work is not optional. Learn more at www.showupreliefalliance.com

Different crises. Different responses. Each one making a difference in our community.

When nonprofits like these are visible to each other and to the community, connection happens and the impact grows beyond what any one organization can do alone. That is what we mean when we say a connected nonprofit ecosystem.

Last night Do Good Together brought nonprofit leaders from across Pinellas County together for a night centered on connection, collaboration, and community.

This week, the Center for Effective Philanthropy (CEP) released new research showing that nonprofit leader burnout continues to rise nationwide. Nights like this matter because stronger relationships between organizations lead to collaboration, resource sharing, greater visibility for important work and, ultimately, more people being served throughout our community.

Thank you to all the nonprofit leaders who came out on their Saturday night to pour into each other. A special thank you to Bob and Voodoo Brewing Co. - St. Pete for hosting and creating such a welcoming space with delicious food, drinks and entertainment, for our nonprofit leaders to enjoy a night about them.

This is exactly the kind of connected nonprofit ecosystem The Do Good Foundation, Inc. is working to build.

Mission Monday
Each Monday we highlight nonprofits that are already part of the ecosystem we are building.

Daystar Life has been serving Pinellas County since 1982. Their mission is to provide essential resources to combat poverty and empower individuals toward long-term stability. They run a healthy food pantry that serves an average of 26,000 families per year, more than 25% of all households facing hunger in the county. Uniquely, much of the produce is grown in their on-site edible garden, harvested weekly, and distributed directly to the people they serve. Financial literacy programs and a registered dietician on staff round out a model that treats food access and independence as inseparable.

Evara Health has been making healthcare accessible throughout Pinellas County for more than 40 years. Founded by civil rights pioneer Dr. Johnnie Ruth Clarke, the first African American woman to earn a doctorate from the University of Florida, Evara was built on a simple belief: children who are not healthy cannot learn. Their mission is to innovate beyond the barriers that limit access to quality healthcare, ensuring everyone receives industry-leading care regardless of their ability to pay. Today, Evara operates 16 centers across Pinellas County, serving more than 60,000 patients through 200,000 yearly visits.

IgniteHerInc supports survivors of domestic violence in the Clearwater area through empowerment workshops and wraparound programs, with a mission to help women reclaim their lives and their power. Right now they have something urgent underway. They have 200 Bright Bags purchased and waiting to be filled for children reached through their law enforcement partners. Sponsor one bag for $25 at IgniteHer.org/KidsFirstBags, or host a donation bin at your business and they will coordinate pickup. Items needed include activity books, crayons, dental hygiene kits, small stuffed animals, fidget toys, snacks, and water. Every bag reaches a child.

Different missions. Different approaches. Each one making a difference in our community.

When nonprofits like these are visible to each other and to the community, connection happens and the impact grows beyond what any one organization can do alone. That is what we mean when we say a connected nonprofit ecosystem.

We are truly honored to be nominated for THREE St. Pete Life Magazine Best of 2026 awards.

This recognition means a lot because it comes from the very community we are building with.

You can vote for us in:
• Best Free Community Event – Do Good Day
• Best Nonprofit – Do Good Foundation
• Best Community Advocate – Meredith Pericles
🗳 Voting is open through June 5. Scan the QR code or follow the link below to vote and .

Awards like this matter. Being seen by the community matters. But what we are building is bigger than any single award or any one organization.

Through the Do Good Foundation, Inc.c. and our programs we are working toward a connected nonprofit ecosystem where organizations collaborate instead of operating in silos, where visibility leads to engagement, and where that engagement turns into real impact that makes a difference.

If you believe in that kind of community, we would be honored to have your vote. https://event.stpetelifemag.com/splvote

Mission Monday
Each Monday we highlight nonprofits that are already part of the ecosystem we are building.

St. Petersburg Free Clinic provides access to health services and advances food security for Pinellas County's low-income and ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) population, reducing economic burdens and supporting long-term individual and family wellness.

Little Tree Homestead is a Gulfport-based nonprofit promoting sustainable living and environmental stewardship through regenerative education in urban agriculture, homesteading, and culinary arts, offering sliding-scale classes, plants, and programs so that no one is turned away for lack of funds.

Pinellas Diaspora Arts Project supports the well-being of underrepresented communities in Tampa Bay by activating participation in arts, technology, media, and civic education, sponsoring festivals, Community Tech Days, youth arts programs, and free events along the Deuces Live St Pete and throughout the region that have reached over 3,000 people since 2021.

Different missions. Different approaches. Each one making a difference in our community.

When nonprofits like these are visible to each other and to the community, connection happens and the impact grows beyond what any one organization can do alone. That is what we mean when we say a connected nonprofit ecosystem.

Mission Mondays start today, and what better place to begin than with the mission behind the Do Good Foundation, Inc..

We started with Do Good Day, at Ferg's Sports Bar & Grill, and quickly realized nonprofits need more than one event on one day.

Too many nonprofits are doing good work in silos, trying to solve big community problems alone. But communities do not thrive in isolation. They thrive in connection.

In nature, mycorrhizal networks connect roots underground, allowing trees and plants to share nutrients, support one another, and grow stronger together. Healthy ecosystems depend on connection. Communities work the same way.

Ten nonprofits serving ten people each can make an impact. Ten connected nonprofits working together can help transform entire communities.

That is the vision behind the Do Good Foundation, Inc.. Building a connected nonprofit ecosystem that helps meet real community needs.

This is the mission. This is the work. And this is only the beginning.

Follow along each Monday as we highlight the nonprofits already part of the ecosystem we are building.

This week is Volunteer Appreciation Week and today is about the people who make all of this possible.

To every volunteer who showed up to support the Do Good Foundation, Inc. and every person who came out to volunteer at Do Good Day, thank you. YOU are the reason the event runs, the reason the nonprofits are supported, and the reason the community can actually engage in a meaningful way.

And to every community member who volunteers, not just with us but anywhere, thank you. YOU are the reason nonprofits are able to function, period. You are the ones making it possible for us to make a difference.

Do Good Day does not happen without you, and it is exactly why we created it. It is also why we created Sprouts for Good through the Do Good Foundation. To build that pipeline early. To make sure service, community, and showing up for something bigger than yourself starts young and continues.

People choosing to show up is what moves everything forward.

We see you. We appreciate you.

Do Good Day is 03/28 at Ferg's Sports Bar & Grill from 11am-2pm.

Being the change is not a slogan. It is consistent action, real partnerships, and choosing impact over attention, even when the spotlight finds you.

I am honored to be recognized by AdventHealth and the Tampa Bay Lightning as a Goal Getter. This moment reflects the collective work of those who show up, build quietly, and stay focused on doing good.
