Update on the temporary closure of the Riviera Bay Playground on 2nd St N.

Our President, Vanessa Marie sent an inquiry to the city this morning as the RBCA hadn’t been notified in advance of the closing of the playground.

We just received this reply:

The Riviera Bay Community playground’s safety surfacing had deteriorated to the point that it was no longer considered safe for use, so the area needed to be closed while the necessary repairs were completed.

The vendor received the replacement materials sooner than anticipated and began the work promptly due to the safety concerns. The vendor expects the work to be completed on Monday, weather permitting.

This closure is needed to repair a sewer lateral
