Thank you to all of our SCCYSA coaches who joined us for tonight’s Coaches Meeting! ⚽

We appreciate you taking the time to prepare for the season and partner with us in creating a positive experience for our players.

We’re looking forward to a successful season working together to provide a fun, safe, and supportive environment where kids can learn, grow, build friendships, and enjoy the game of soccer.

🌟 Say hello to Kara, SCCYSA’s Membership Services Representative!

Kara is one of the friendly faces in our office, helping our members navigate everything SCCYSA. Whether a family has a question about registration, payments, uniforms, rosters or their GotSport account, Kara is here to help point them in the right direction.

She also supports our coaches and teams by sharing important information, answering questions and helping make each family’s experience with SCCYSA as simple and welcoming as possible.

We asked Kara to share a little about herself, and here's what she had to say:

How long have you been involved with SCCYSA?
I was fortunate to join the SCCYSA team in 2025.

What is your favorite soccer memory?
My favorite soccer memory is watching my little kids in their soccer gear. The oversized jerseys, tiny shin guards, and socks pulled up to their knees— it all captures a moment that's both adorable and fleeting. I remember those early soccer seasons less for the scores and more for the smiles, picking dandelions, post-game snacks, and sweet kiddos who looked impossibly small in their gear.

What do you enjoy doing outside of soccer?
I love going to concerts of all kinds, cheering on my daughters from the sidelines, and spending quality time with family and friends.

What is your favorite thing to do in St. Charles County?
We’re lucky to live in St. Charles County which offers so many wonderful parks, activities, and restaurants. However, being in my “sports era” with multiple practices and games for my daughters, my favorite thing to do in St. Charles County is to just be home.

What do you hope to help improve or grow within SCCYSA?
My goal is to help create a positive experience for young athletes and their families and to further improve our SCCYSA community where kids can learn, grow, and enjoy the game.

What advice would you give to SCCYSA coaches or parents?
Focus on positive feedback, celebrate players’ efforts, and tell them, “Good job!” even if things didn't go their way. The lessons they learn from receiving support and encouragement will last far longer than the final score.

🎉 Meet Ryan McMullin, SCCYSA’s new Operations Director!

Ryan will oversee SCCYSA’s day-to-day operations and help keep each season running smoothly—from registration, team rosters and scheduling to uniforms, field coordination, volunteer support and communication with our families, coaches and referees.

Ryan will also work closely with the SCCYSA Board and staff to improve processes, support our members and help create a positive soccer experience for everyone in our community.

We asked Ryan to share a little about himself and here's what he had to say:

What impact do you want to make on the organization?
I want to help create a positive, organized, and welcoming experience for every player, coach, referee, and family. My goal is to contribute to SCCYSA's continued growth while ensuring the focus remains on player development, sportsmanship, and making soccer an enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

What is your favorite soccer memory?
My favorite soccer memory would be going to the first ever playoff game for St. Louis City SC.

What do you enjoy doing outside of soccer?
Outside of soccer I love to watch sports, hangout with family and friends, and build legos!

Do you have a favorite sports team?
My favorite sports teams are Manchester United, Chicago Bears, and St. Louis City SC.

What is your favorite thing to do in St. Charles County?
I love trying new restaurants.

What do you hope to help improve or grow within SCCYSA?
I hope to help SCCYSA continue growing by providing a great experience for players and families, supporting coaches, improving communication, and helping create a well organized environment both on and off the field.

What advice would you give to SCCYSA coaches or parents?
My advice to parents and coaches would be to focus on the development of the players and not just winning games. Encourage effort, teamwork, respect, and a love for the game. When coaches and parents work together to create a positive, supportive environment, every child has a better opportunity to learn, improve, and enjoy soccer.
