That’s Inver Grove's own Corey Picha serving on the St. Paul Winter Carnival's Vulcan Krewe for 2026.

If you were at the Winter Carnival last week, you may have seen Corey and the Vulcans in action — including a great moment when the South St. Paul native and the Krewe surprised Kaposia Elementary students and helped make one young student’s birthday extra special.

What a lot of people don’t always see is that the Vulcans aren’t just about parades and fun traditions (though they do that really well 😉). They also spend countless hours visiting schools, nursing homes, hospitals, and community events — spreading joy, encouraging kids, and lifting spirits all year long.

Congratulations, Corey — and thank you for helping make winter brighter, birthdays better, and summer come a little sooner. 🔥
