What does a lemonade stand have to do with our mission? Everything. 🍋+🪥=✨

We had the sweetest full-circle moment recently, and we just had to share it!

Earlier this year, Bridge to Basics received a grant from GIVING WoMN. During the event, one of the members took our story home and shared it with her young children.

And like kids do, they immediately wanted to help!

Along with their neighborhood friend, they set up a lemonade stand to raise money for local families needing essential hygiene products. And boy, did they deliver!

Inspiration caught on fast:
🍋 The kids raised a fantastic amount at their stand.
🍋 Mom rounded up the total to make an even bigger impact.
🍋 Then, she submitted it to her employer—who matched the donation!

From a collective of women supporting our mission, to kids taking hands-on action, to a business amplifying that generosity—this is what the power of collective giving looks like.

Thank you to these incredible young changemakers and their family for reminding us how much good happens when a community comes together! 💙 🩵

Our friends at Connections to Independence recently shared the impact our collaboration has on their programming.

"Bridge to Basics products have provided crucial hygiene and essential items to our youth aged 14–24 navigating foster care and the transition to independence. Having reliable access to basic necessities relieves financial stress, restores dignity, and helps our young people focus on building their futures, securing housing, and successfully aging out of care with confidence."

Mistakes happen—how you handle them is what counts! 💙🩵

Last month, we inadvertently missed a batch of hygiene kits in an order for our friends at Mobile Loaves Twin Cities. When they reached out to let us know, we double-checked our records and confirmed the oversight.

Even though they graciously offered to make do with the rest of their distribution, we knew those missing kits were critical to their work.

In moments like these, our core values aren't just words on a page—they are our roadmap:

We Listen & We Partner: We know how essential those kits were for the neighbors they serve, and we refused to let our slip-up disrupt their impact.

We Act: As soon as we caught the error, we packed up the missing kits and drove them straight over.

We Try: When things don't go according to plan, we innovate, adapt and fix it fast.

At the end of the day, We Empower—and keeping our promise to our partner nonprofits means they can keep empowering our community without missing a beat.

How many incontinence items can you fit in an SUV? 🤔 💭

The answer to that question is still being worked out!

We are happily making our way through the donation of incontinence items that our friends at Diaper Bank of Minnesota just provided us. Every few months we head over to their warehouse to load up on these items that their donors have provided to the organization. With Diaper Bank focused on caring for the diaper needs of our youngest community members, these out of inventory items make their way to neighbors who need extra bladder support through our programming.

Since our launch, we have been collaborating with their incredible ED to share ideas, build connections and foster a friendship. Bonus value of this relationship is that we help make room for more youth diapers in their warehouse while filling a vital product need in ours. These donations help us redirect some costs into other critical head to toe essentials.

"The more we pack, the more impact!" 📦 + 💙 = ✨

Two of our middle school volunteers summed up their shifts perfectly this week!

Huge shoutout to King of Kings Lutheran Church Summer Stretch, their youth leader Michael (Cam too!), and the 26 amazing middle schoolers who spent two days making a difference in our warehouse. Split into two energetic groups, these kids dove deep into learning about hygiene insecurity in our community—and then turned that learning into kind-hearted, middle-school intensity, next-level action. ⚡

In just two shifts, they:
☒ Assembled 1,131 hygiene kits
☒ Created hundreds of dignity packs
☒ Sorted and processed thousands of new donations

Thank you for bringing so much heart, energy and hands-on help to Bridge to Basics!🫶 You created so much community impact in these 4 hours! We are grateful for each and every one of you and can't wait to have you back! 🙏

1 MILLION HYGIENE PRODUCTS DISTRIBUTED! 🎉💙🩵 🪥

From May 2024 through July 2026, our incredible community did something extraordinary: Together, we passed 1,000,000 hygiene products delivered to Twin Cities neighbors in need!

While food and housing support are well-known safety nets, hygiene insecurity is a hidden hardship. Too many families are forced to choose between groceries and soap, diapers or dental care.

Reaching 1 million items in just over two years proves how massive the need is—and how powerful we are when we step up to meet it together. But the needs in our community are still building, and we need YOUR help to fund the next million.

Here are 5 simple ways you can take action today:
1️⃣ Donate: Make a financial gift to keep our supply chain running.
2️⃣ Shop: Send items directly to us via our online registries.
3️⃣ Host a Drive: Gather essential items with your workplace, neighborhood, faith community, or sports team.

We love when our partners come to pick up supplies, but dropping off orders in person is extra special! 🚚 + 🪥 = ✨

Last month we paid a visit to Steps of Strategy to deliver their monthly hygiene needs and see their programming in action.

From housing support, mentorship, employment assistance and financial literacy education, Steps of Strategy is giving individuals and families the tools to overcome homelessness and build stable, fulfilling lives.

We are proud to help power their mission behind the scenes by equipping their teams with reliable monthly hygiene essentials. Together, we're strengthening communities and creating brighter futures. 💙🩵

Helping hands and big hearts! 💙 Huge thanks to the amazing volunteer crew who spent their morning with us building family care bags for an upcoming event and assembling essential menstrual packs for our community! But their day wasn't done with our shift....they had a whole day of service planned! 🙏 (not quite sure where they find so much energy, but it was clear these guys were having fun with each other!)
