Wow! We are humbled and excited to share this profile about our story and mission by Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation. SPMF was an early and strong believer and founder of our mission to make hygiene more accessible—and came to our warehouse to capture our story. We L❤️VE the finished product! And know you will too! We had another round of VIPs show up at the warehouse last week. These lovely ladies from St. Peter's AME Church in Minneapolis and St. James AME Church in St. Paul brought carloads (yes, multiple cars!) of menstrual products, toilet paper, and more. They braved the cold snap to deliver support and dignity to struggling neighbors. We can't wait to welcome them back for a tour and volunteer activity. Thank you so much, ladies! 🙏🥰

The Sisters in a Subaru strike again! 🚙💨

We had some VIPs pull up to the warehouse this past week. The "Sisters in a Subaru" made their second massive product donation, proving that you don’t need a semi-truck to move the needle on hygiene poverty—just a trunk full of heart (and soap!).

We love seeing our community get creative with their giving. These sisters aren’t just delivering soap and toothbrushes; they’re delivering dignity to our neighbors across the Twin Cities. 🌉

Did you know?
One in four people struggle to purchase period supplies due to lack of income.

Bridge to Basics works to reduce this stat by making sure that no student misses school, no adult misses work, and no person misses out on daily life because they do not have access to menstrual products.

You can help by making a donation to Bridge to Basics, donating period products at any Twin Cities Old National Bank this week, or sharing this post to build awareness of the issue.

While Bridge to Basics has led with equipping nonprofits with full size hygiene products, over the past few months we've had a tremendous increase in requests for personal or travel-size items. Teachers are building dignity drawers, social workers offer care closets and housing providers have head-to-toe rooms. We've stepped up to meet these needs more broadly so that all partners can order not only the items they need, but in sizes that work best for those they serve.

This is just one example on how we are listening and responding to the needs of our partners.

Bring your new, full size hygiene items to any Old National Bank location through May 15. Items will be distributed to students and families through school and food shelf partnerships.

Shout out to the HAT team! The Metro Transit Police Department first launched its Homeless Action Team (HAT) in 2018, in response to the growing need to connect people experiencing homelessness with services. Since then, they have also focused on addressing issues surrounding substance abuse.

This team builds trust by providing food, clothing, and other resources in order to assist with everything from shelter, treatment and health screenings.

Bridge to Basics is proud to play a small role in their mission by providing hygiene kits and other personal care essentials to these incredible officers each month. Join us in thanking HAT for their care, kindness and skill in serving our community. 👏👏

We closed the dock door on another huge month of distributions -- sending support to neighbors across the Twin Cities through vans, sedans, trucks and even squad cars. More than 75,000 daily essentials were provided to students, patients, residents and families who can't afford the items that many of us take for granted in our own bathrooms. We are grateful for the community that is on this journey with us to equip our neighbors with items that everyone deserves for health and dignity. Thank you!

School is almost out, but for many families, summer break brings a heavy burden. Without access to school-based resources, the demand at our local food shelves skyrockets with families seeking support.

That’s why we launched "Bridge the Break" in partnership with Old National Bank.

We are incredibly grateful to Old National Bank for amplifying our mission and making it easier than ever to help our neighbors. Now through May 15, you can find a Bridge to Basics donation bin at any of their 43 Twin Cities locations.

What we need:
🧼 Deodorant & Body Wash
🪥 Toothpaste
🧺 Laundry Detergent PODS
✨ Period Products, Diapers, Shampoo, Conditioner, Lotions and more
