On May 11th, Future of Us welcomed over 60 students from Hope Community Academy and Community School of Excellence to our first-ever Asian Pacific Islander Youth Day at the Capitol.
Students heard from advocacy panelists Kevin Huynh (MN8) and Ankita Kumar (Youth Voter Project), participated in an advocacy workshop led by Future of Us staff Tenzin Choesang and Staël Kpetsu, and concluded the day with meetings with State Senator Susan Pha and State Representatives Athena Hollins, Xp Lee, Liz Lee, and Samantha Vang.
Students left the Youth Day feeling more empowered, educated and equipped to advocate for their family, friends and neighbors. Thank you to everyone who made this day of learning, advocacy, and youth leadership possible. We’re proud to help empower the next generation of leaders!
