It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we
learned of the passing of LAGUERRE, Alter.
Yesterday, he was at work as usual, but a medical crisis claimed his life over the night.

Alter has been part of IFM for many years and faithfully worked at the gate of the mission campus. He took great pride in checking in students for Siloe School. He always ensured they were out of the way of any vehicles entering or exiting the campus.

Alter, you left a massive hole in our team, and we will greatly miss you.

Yesterday, there was another round of upheaval and chaos in and around Haiti's Port au Prince areas.

As Moses instructed the people of Isreal while they looked out on the Red Sea, knowing the Egyptian army was behind them, we chose to trust God and hope for deliverance and a brighter future. Our God is a miracle-working God.
We are thankful that all of our staff are safe and accounted for. We extend our sympathy to those who sustained injuries and pray for a quick and complete recovery for them.

JetBlue Airways said late on Monday it will extend a halt to all flights to and from Haiti through Dec. 2 after damage from a bullet to a plane returning from Port-au-Prince was discovered.

The mainstream news coming from Haiti may be depressing, but we have exciting news to share with you!

Despite many hurdles, including the security situation not allowing us to bring textbooks from Port au Prince, Ecole Siloe is open, and the students return to learning in Fonds Parisien.

In Haiti, many rural health centers do not have access to reliable internet or well-trained IT staff to maintain electronic patient charting systems.

While we now have Starlink Internet, we do not have electronic patient charting. All of our recordkeeping is done on paper charts. Our staff does an excellent job of record keeping. The Haitian Government continues to commend our accuracy and clarity. Every patient has a minimum of three paper charts per visit, and many have 5+ pages. These are all stapled together and filed in our patient account folders.

From January 1st to August 31st, 2024, our staff have completed 10,619 patient consultations. (This is only a fraction of what we do when the road is open and people can move safely around the country.)
