Thursday March 26th
Trail update

We are ready for the weekend. Just finished grooming our system. Still plenty of snow and very little issues. We are lucky to have most of our trails in the woods and only have short sections of road to cross. The next two days will be the best riding and then it gets warmer according to the weather. We may groom one more time if needed but at the moment it's hard and fast with the occasional curve that we couldn't get perfect do to conditons.

Thanks again for a great year. If your riding our area please stop in trout lake and consider donating to one of our collection boxes at the Buckhorn or gas station and if your in Moran stop in to k and V grocery. Our volunteer drivers put in overtime to give you the best experience possible.

Wednesday March 25th
Trail update

Since last weekend we have been working when temps allow to get everything back in shape for one more weekend. Currently 3/4 of our trails are flat and have plenty of snow. We will finish smoothing things out Thursday night when the temps drop. Starting Friday morning our conditions will be smooth flat and hard. Only issues might be first thing in the morning as it could be icy. Friday and Saturday looks to be the best days and Sunday gets warmer again. You can ride from St Ignace with no problems.

Thanks to a very good season and to all of those who have helped support us this year. We continue to improve and do the best we can when Mother Nature provides

Saturday March 21st
Trail update

We tried everything we could today to keep up with traffic and the warmer weather. Unfortunately it is still too warm to groom and do any good. It is not gonna get cold enough to groom until tomorrow night for us. We ran hard all week to prepare for this weekend but the weather is winning and expect rough trail conditions for the next few days.
Also to top off some of our recent bad luck the John Deere groomer broke down in the trail south of trout lake and will be there for a few days at least. We are not giving up and believe there is a chance to get ready for next weekend it just may take a bit. We will update when trail conditions are better.

Friday March 20th
Trail update

We have been over our system a few times since the snow. Currently all of our trails are ridable and in good condition. We now have a groomer stuck and it has potential to be a day before it is back on the trails. We are waiting for assistance at the moment. As soon as we can get back to grooming we will put in overtime to make things better. Please be patient with us at this time. With the warmer weather it's harder for us to keep trails smooth

Wednesday March 18th
Trail update

We are working hard to get over all of our system since the storm. Just like other area clubs, this is taking several extra hours to complete. We will have everything in decent shape by tomorrow night. If you are coming up this weekend please understand that conditions may change very fast. We have a lot of loose snow, warmer temps, and plenty of traffic that will all contribute. WD

Monday March 16th
Trail update

Firsts thoughts are what the heck do we do??? Well at the moment we unhooked drag and running the John Deere track tractor just to try and break through. We received somewhere around 3ft so far where it hasn't blowed. There is 6 ft plus drifting in spots. The drifts are gonna get hard to. As much as I would like to say it's awesome out here it just isn't and will take several days to get somewhat of a trail. We are just getting started so there could be more surprises but we are trying!! For the next several days if you are coming up our trails are drifting and there is so much snow that it will take several trips to get smoothed out. We will update when things change. WD

Sunday March 15th
Snow update!

It started snowing and blowing this morning and has not stopped. We are now parked until the weather is safe to travel. So many unknowns at the moment as to what will happen when this storm is over. One thing is for sure that we will have plenty of snow. We will update as soon as we get an eye on what conditions we have and develop a plan.

Groomers out doing work this evening. As this next system comes in we will be grooming when it is safe to.

The answer to the question that has been asked a few dozen times the past few days about if the trails are good or not. Well we are halfway through grooming our southern loop and into St. Ignace and the trails held up great. We were concerned that there would be stutter bumps all through the system and that couldn't be anything further from the truth. Trails are hard packed with ice base, and are only going to get better with the 2 systems coming through this weekend.

Get out and ride the trails are great.

Winter storm is brewing. Do your snow dance.

As it stands right now our trails held up over this last warm up. We should be back to grooming either later Thursday eve or Friday eve based on our Groomer operators day jobs. Either way we will be running the groomers both during the day and night so keep an eye out for us and give a wave.

Tuesday March 3rd
Trail update

Tonight will be our last groom until the weather changes back to cold. At the moment our forecast is for several days in the 40s and very little nights below freezing. We still have plenty of snow base and a good chance to be able to make it through the warm spell. The long term weather is predicting for us to go back to cold and possibly staying that way for the second half of the month. I wouldn't put away sleds just yet but maybe take a pause for the upcoming weekend. If and when winter returns we are prepared to groom as needed and we will update when the conditions improve. WD
