Two Belmont County Master Gardeners (Carol and MaryAnn) had the pleasure of attending the Birds & Breakfast event sponsored by Belmont Soil & Water Conservation District.

The Storybook Trail at Barkcamp State Park provided a beautiful setting for the event. Sunlight filtered through the forest, highlighting all that grew there. Along the trail and around the water, we enjoyed observing wildlife, including a family of Canada geese gliding across the lake.

We were especially glad to have had the opportunity to chat with Samantha and her friends, all of which added to the enjoyment of our morning.

And of course, the breakfast was outstanding! Guests enjoyed juice, water, fresh fruit, sausage, pancakes, and much more.

Thank you to Belmont Soil & Water Conservation District for hosting such a welcoming and well-organized event. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature, meet new friends, and enjoy one of Belmont County’s beautiful natural treasures.

What a difference a day makes!

Our Herb Circle at the Community Garden in St. Clairsville received some much-needed attention, and the results are amazing. These before-and-after photos tell the story of what can be accomplished when dedicated volunteers come together with a shared love of gardening and community service.

A huge thank you to our incredible Belmont OSU Master Gardeners who rolled up their sleeves and worked tirelessly to w**d, tidy, refresh, and restore this special garden space. We were also fortunate to have Alana, an honorary-for-the-day Master Gardener, join our efforts and lend an enthusiastic helping hand!

Do you love gardening and want to learn more while giving back to your community?

The Belmont County Master Gardeners with our OSU Extension Educator, Dan Lima, are hoping to offer a new Master Gardener Volunteer Training Program.

We’re looking for about 10 interested individuals to begin our next series of classes.

As a Master Gardener Volunteer, you’ll:

* Learn from university-based horticulture experts
* Expand your gardening knowledge and skills
* Participate in community projects and educational programs
* Meet wonderful people who share your passion for gardening
* Connect with Master Gardeners from neighboring counties and
build lasting friendships

Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just eager to learn more, we’d love to hear from you!

What a wonderful day we had at the Belmont OSU Master Gardeners Annual Plant Swap!

Even though the skies threatened rain, the weather cooperated just enough for us to enjoy another successful outdoor event filled with gardening friends, community spirit, and LOTS of plants! With so many beautiful plants to swap and so many people sharing a common love of gardening, how could anyone not leave smiling?

It was heartwarming to see our community come together once again — neighbors helping neighbors, gardeners sharing knowledge and stories, and volunteers stepping up throughout the day. From setup to teardown and cleanup, so many helpful hands made the event run smoothly, and we are incredibly grateful.

We even had a few furry friends stop by to join the fun! 🐾

To those who couldn’t make it this year, we missed you and hope to see you at our next event!
