Today, the members of the Maria Jefferson Chapter, NSDAR, join Americans across the nation in remembering the heroes of D-Day.

On June 6, 1944, thousands of brave Allied servicemen crossed the English Channel and landed on the beaches of Normandy in one of the largest military operations in history. Facing overwhelming odds, they demonstrated extraordinary courage, sacrifice, and devotion to the cause of freedom.

As we commemorate the anniversary of D-Day, we honor those who served, those who gave their lives, and the generation that helped secure liberty for millions around the world. Their legacy reminds us of the importance of patriotism, service, and preserving the freedoms we enjoy today.

May we never forget their sacrifice and may we continue to share their stories with future generations.

Today, the Maria Jefferson Chapter, NSDAR, joins people around the world in recognizing World Environment Day and the importance of protecting the natural resources entrusted to us.

From preserving historic landscapes and cemeteries to participating in community cleanups and conservation efforts, DAR members continue to demonstrate their commitment to responsible stewardship of our environment.

Together, we can make a difference by caring for the places we live, work, and share with future generations.

As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of American Independence, the Maria Jefferson Chapter, NSDAR, is proud to honor our nation's history through a series of special America 250 events in our community.

📜 July 4 – America 250 Picnic at Historic Fort Mose
📜 July 8 – Public Reading of the Declaration of Independence at the Ximenez-Fatio House Museum
🌳 July 18 – Liberty Tree Dedication at St. Augustine Beach

These events provide an opportunity to reflect on the courage and sacrifice of our Patriot ancestors while sharing their stories with future generations.

As Daughters of the American Revolution, we are committed to preserving our nation's history and Illuminating Our Legacy through education, historic preservation, and patriotism.

Today, the Maria Jefferson Chapter, NSDAR honors the incredible legacy of Clara Barton, founder of the American Red Cross on May 21, 1881.

A nurse, humanitarian, and educator, Clara Barton’s compassion and courage transformed the way we care for others in times of crisis. As a proud member and leader within the DAR, her dedication to service continues to inspire generations.

Her work reminds us that one person’s commitment can make a lasting difference in the lives of many.
