Speak up. Defend Wildlife.
Wildlife protection isn’t just about protecting individual animals. It means protecting the habitats they depend on, the ecosystems they are part of, and the laws that give threatened species a chance to survive.
For more than 50 years, the Endangered Species Act (ESA) has provided critical protections for species across the United States, including more than 20 threatened and endangered species in the Gulf of Mexico.
But in March 2026, the federal Endangered Species Committee voted to exempt all oil and gas activities across more than 600,000 square miles of the Gulf from ESA requirements. The decision affects species including whales, sea turtles, manatees, corals, and many fish species.
