Welcome to my new page for Salgado Farms Foundation & Aunt Lid’s L.L.C!
My name is Lydia Salgado. I am a Navy Veteran, Registered Respiratory Therapist, Wife, and Momma. My husband Cesar is also a Navy Veteran and works in Solar Energy here in SWF.
Salgado Farms Foundation and Aunt Lid’s L.L.C where established in January of 2023. They are both founded as non-profit organizations and are in the beginning and planning stages.
The idea behind both these organizations are to provide a safe place for families and youth in Charlotte and DeSoto County, FL to learn about art, farming, first aid, fishing, trades such as solar energy, and so much more.
I have been applying for federal grants in order to raise funds to purchase land between Charlotte and DeSoto County. I am specifically looking to buy off Route 17 that connects these two areas as I feel this will be the most beneficial location to serve both communities efficiently.
I have not had much luck with the federal grant route so I am looking into other options to obtain funds other than a conventional loans.
Neither of these non-profit organizations are my main source of income. I have a young family to help support so as much as I would love to put my life savings into this, it’s just not logical in this stage of my life.
I would like to start some fundraising by selling a piece of original art I made during the pandemic. Art is such a beautiful way to decompress. I am by no means a pro, but I have to start somewhere. So, I hope someone enjoys my painting!
I think the lack of things for children and teens to do in this area greatly contributes to some of the issues that effect the younger population in this area. If I can get this project off the ground, I will be able to provide a safe place parents would feel comfortable letting their children hang out it will also create new jobs, and provide a different view and approach to education for the future generations to come.

All donations or funds raised will go directly into my business account and will be used to purchase land in cash once I have enough saved. I will offer full transparency through this project as it is very important to know where charitable donations are being used for. Thank you.
