What an incredible night with the Saginaw Bay Symphony Orchestra, Saginaw Choral Society, and the fantastic Jeans ’n Classics band!

We performed the music of Queen and Journey, and there is something very special about bringing an orchestra, choir, and rock band together to perform some of the best rock music you grew up listening to.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this concert such a blast: the incredible musicians of the SBSO, the Saginaw Choral Society, the amazing Jeans ’n Classics band and singers, and especially our wonderful audience.

We Will Rock You. And it was nice to conduct with a T-shirt for once! 🤘👑

At this point, it goes without saying that Queen sounds great with an orchestra, but have you ever wondered why?

Their music has always pulled from well beyond the rock genre, using influences from opera, theatre, layered vocals that sound much bigger than they are, and some incredibly ambitious musical ideas throughout their catalog.

Bohemian Rhapsody is the most obvious example, but it's not the only one!

We Will Rock You: The Music of Queen and Journey is on September 26, 2026, and if you haven't got tickets yet, you're going to want to!

But in the meantime (or maybe need a little more convicing), you can learn more about the classical influences behind Queen in our blog post linked in the comments.

Review Magazine sat down with us to talk about our upcoming season, Heroes & Legends, for a closer look at what audiences can expect on the Temple Theatre stage over the coming months.

We're incredibly grateful for the article, and for the continued coverage of arts and culture in our region.
