That's a wrap on Fire Camp 2026! 🚒🔥

Our final day was packed with unforgettable experiences. Campers took rides in fire trucks, toured an ambulance, and had the opportunity to learn about air medical operations when CareFlite landed a helicopter.

The week concluded with a graduation ceremony recognizing all of the hard work, teamwork, and dedication these campers demonstrated throughout the week. Several special awards were presented, including Top Gun, Top Knot, Top Scribe, Most Improved, and Instructor's Choice.

This year's graduation was also especially meaningful as we recognized Randy Polk for his final year with Fire Camp after many years of dedication to the program. His daughter, Bailey, was also recognized for the countless hours she has spent helping make Fire Camp a success alongside him.

Thank you to all of the firefighters, staff, volunteers, partner agencies, and families who help make this incredible tradition possible year after year.

Day 4 of Fire Camp was another exciting day of learning and hands-on experiences! 🚒

Today, campers continued their rappelling training, toured the Police Department, and took rides in the bucket of Haslet Fire Department’s ladder truck.

They also put their skills to the test during a simulated large-scale emergency incident. Using the teamwork, communication, and fire rescue skills they’ve practiced all week, campers worked together to respond to the scenario just like real first responders.

Day 3 of Fire Camp was packed with action! 🚒🔥

Today, campers learned lifesaving CPR skills, tackled knot-tying races, practiced rappelling, took on the church raise challenge, and rotated through several hands-on fire rescue stations.

From teamwork and problem-solving to emergency response skills, these campers are gaining valuable knowledge while having a blast. Great job, campers!

It’s that time of year again... Fire Camp 2026! 🚒🔥

This year, we’re excited to welcome one of our largest groups ever to a program that has been inspiring young minds for nearly three decades.

Established in 1998, Saginaw Fire Camp was the first fire camp of its kind in the State of Texas. Participants are selected by their teachers and are incoming 5th graders who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and behavior throughout the school year.

Throughout the week, students will spend their days at the fire station learning from firefighters and emergency personnel through hands-on experiences and interactive lessons. From basic first aid and fire safety to operating fire extinguishers and even rappelling down the side of a building, campers gain valuable skills, confidence, and unforgettable memories.

The Saginaw Fire Department is incredibly proud of this longstanding tradition. Fire Camp not only teaches fire safety and emergency preparedness but also inspires leadership, teamwork, and community service in the next generation of heroes.
