We invite you and your staff to attend an important California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) meeting to speak in support of the TruConnect Free Phone & Internet Program, which helps keep seniors, unhoused individuals, people with disabilities, and low-income families connected to critical services.

Directors and staff serving vulnerable communities
Family members and caregivers
Senior citizens
Disabled individuals

We recognize that not all families have the chance to enjoy a warm, culturally comforting meal during the Thanksgiving season. That’s why , together with our incredible partners — The Center at Sierra Health Foundation, OCA Sacramento Chapter - Asian Pacific American Advocates , Sacramento Camellia Lions Foundation, Malaya Lions Club, Filipino Community of Sacramento and Vicinity, Trader’s Joe, Nuggets, Parkwest Lotus Casino, Goblin Gardens at Bastiao Farms, Tortas Chilangas CD Nezahual Coyotl, Sacramento Capitol Lions Club and All Mart Groceries—is coming together to host our 3rd Annual Dinner with Family event at our headquarters on Elder Creek Road, as well as a Family Luncheon at our Refugee Support Center in Citrus Heights. Rooted in community giving and shared traditions, we hope this meal brings joy, connection, and a sense of togetherness to those who need it most. Please share this information with families who may benefit.

Join the Black Hair & Black Hygiene Project and South Sacramento HART 's Collective Drive & Give-A-Way Event, 3/15 ( Requesting community to wear masks during this event)

The Black Hair & Black Hygiene Project and South Sacramento HART on Saturday, March 15 from 10:30AM-12noon The Collection Drive, Work Session ( folding and creating beautiful Zines) and Give -A-Way Event will be held at Florin United Methodist Church, 7560 Florin Road, Sacramento, CA.

The Collection Drive will feature collecting personal hygiene items ( travel size toothpaste, afro pics, Vaselines, hair grease, lotions, toothbrushes, soaps, hand warmers ) and warm clothing items ( Bennie hats, socks, scarves, gloves; tarps and belts ) for the unhoused and others. We will also be disseminating items to the Unhoused and other community members at the Collection Drive Event. Community members can also learn to fold and create beautiful ZINES listing local community resources.

The Black Hair & Black Hygiene Project (BHBH Project) provides hair and hygiene products for our unhoused and impacted community members.
