You don't have to dread the 3-digit temps forecast for tomorrow. Plan a trip to the Rosemont High School Pool for Family Swim Night to cool off. Sponsored by Cordova Rec & Park District and just $1 per person. After your time in the water, head over to Rosemont Community Park for Food Truck Mania. The air was thick with excitement as students began to line up to pick out backpacks and receive school supplies in front of Baskin Robbins on Saturday morning. By the end of the Backpack Giveaway, RCA had distributed 177 backpacks all filled with school supplies.

Much thanks go to our sponsors Supervisor Pat Hume and SMUD, our location host Baskinrobbinkiefer, and donors MTO School of Islamic Sufism, Dee Gavaldon, Joe Hart, Gary Vorce, Kathy Gee, Jill Petifer, and Lauren Maddock & Keith Maddock. Our stellar volunteers were Roxann Phillips, Lauren Maddock, Valeska Wise & Family, Karina B***a, Dee Gavaldon, Joe Hart, Leslie Addiego, Laura Okawa, and several from the MTO Sufi Center. The Sandwich Spot Rosemont provided delicious nourishment for volunteer lunches.

The excess supplies we had were donated to Garden City Church who is collecting school supplies for teachers in the Sacramento City Unified School District to distribute in their classrooms. RCA's donation will go to the schools in our neighborhood.

BEAT THE HEAT!! This Friday you will have a unique opportunity to cool off even though it will be in the 90s or hotter!

The last Family Swim Night of the summer happens at Rosemont High School Pool. Bring the whole family--it's only $1 per person! Make it an end of the summer party before the kids go back to school. Sponsored by Cordova Rec & Park District.

After your swim, head over to Rosemont Community Park for Food Truck Mania. Plenty of tables in the shade; always a little breeze; and great food (and desserts) with neighbors.
