On Saturday, September 26, community college faculty and TK–12 educators across California are coming together for a statewide Higher Education Day of Action in support of Proposition 3.

Prop. 3 would keep existing voter-approved tax rates on high-income earners from expiring, protecting billions in annual funding for California’s public schools and community colleges.

Pawfessor Zaccc Twist knows how to work a room. 🐻

FACCC President Sarah Thompson and Pawfessor Zaccc Twist spent the California Community Colleges Futures Summit connecting with colleagues and friends from across the system.

Among the many attendees joining Zaccc for a photo were Foothill College President Dr. Kristina Whalen; California Community Colleges Board of Governors member Dr. Cirian Villavicencio; Terrence Willett, Visiting Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research, Analytics and Data at the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office; Wendy Brill-Wynkoop, Visiting Faculty of the Executive Office at the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office; Saddleback College Vice President for Instruction Tram Vo-Kumamoto; De Anza College’s Dr. Erik Woodbury and Doli Bambhania; and Chabot-Las Positas Community College District Chancellor Ron Gerhard (with Kujo! 🐕).

AB 2121 (Berman) has passed the Legislature and is headed to Governor Newsom’s desk. The bill would create a new exception to California’s 50% Law, setting a dangerous precedent that could weaken a longstanding protection for instructional funding.
