We had a great time at our New Moon Gathering for the Flower Moon on Tuesday.

We set our intentions for the upcoming Flower Moon cycle which begins on 4/17 with our Moonifestations. We read a story called We Are the Gardeners by Joanna Gaines and her children. We learned how the Flower Moon got its name and we talked about the two upcoming meteor showers this month! Scout families will read the Forest Story for this lunar cycle at home and when we come back together for the Full Flower Moon Party in a few weeks we will find out what everyone did for their Act of Kindness to help the full moon rise. This lunar cycle the Act of Kindness looks inward and has us focusing on creating something that is an expression of ourselves and celebrates self love through that act.

Kids Moon Club is such a wonderful compliment to what we do in SpiralScouts and helps our scouts complete work on different badges in an intentional rhythm with the lunar cycles.

If you’ve been looking for a scouting program or an alternative program for your children, I invite you to check out our local Sacramento SpiralScouts Circle. This year we are adding the Wilder Child Kids Moon Club to compliment our scouting activities, and add rhythm to following and exploring the seasons together.

We will be doing a Kids Moon Club activity meeting for the Snow Moon at Tahoe Park this coming Monday 1/26 from 4-5:30pm. If you’d like to join and check it out comment below for more info. I’ll be hosting an info meeting for participating in SpiralScouts with us this year on 1/29 via virtual meeting. As the Circle Leader for Wild Oak Circle, im so excited for our 5th scouting year that is just getting started. SpiralScouts is for children of all genders, all abilities, any faith or no faith background, from any family structure and ages 3-18 years old.

Yesterday one of our scout parents dropped off a loaf of her homemade sourdough bread to the firefighters at Station 10 along with a thank you card our circle put together at our meeting earlier this week

Hope all the scouts had a great time touring the Fire Station for our Personal Safety badge field trip. One of the coolest places we have gotten to visit together!

Our scouts had such a good time last night touring the Sacramento Fire Department Fire Station #10. Thanks to Firefighter James and all the other firefighters who helped make this a fun tour for our scouts, we go have been working on their Personal Safety badge this fall.

Sacramento SpiralScouts Wild Oak Circle #536 and Kids Moon Club is so very excited to visit Sacramento Fire Department station #10 today! Scouts families please check out What’s App group for field trip info and details. Touring the Fire Station will fulfill a Personal Saftey and Fire Safety badge requirement.

Last Friday morning, family, friends, and colleagues gathered at Station 10 to celebrate an incredible milestone for Ryan Sifuentes, who was promoted to Fire Captain!

With balloons, signs, and big smiles, the crowd proudly cheered as Fire Chief Chris Costamagna swore in Captain Sifuentes. The joyous occasion was made even more special by the love and support of those closest to him.

Captain Sifuentes began his journey with the Sacramento Fire Department on October 10, 2011, and his hard work and dedication have brought him to this proud moment.

Congratulations, Captain Sifuentes!
