We couldn’t be more grateful for community partners who are willing to share their time, gifts, and talents to care for others. Your generosity provided more than a delicious meal - it reminded our neighbors that they are seen, valued, and supported by their community.

More good news from our new Bicycle Program! 🚲

Last week, one of our clients received a refurbished bicycle through HART. Today, he came back to our Freshen Up Shower Program with some wonderful news:

“Thank you for the bike last week. It helped me get a job. So now I ride my bike four miles to my boss’ house, who takes me to work. I already got my first check for $100 bucks. I want to get some place to rent soon.”

A bike. A new job. A first paycheck. And hope for what comes next. ❤️

This is the difference a little support at the right time can make. We’re so grateful to everyone who helps make moments like this possible! 💙

🚲 New Bicycle Program Partnership! 🚲

During the final week of July, HART participated in the Bicycle Program operated by the Rotary Club of Cameron Park.

For the past ten years, the Cameron Park Rotary Club has partnered with Folsom Prison, where broken bicycles are restored and returned for community use. Each month, bicycles are delivered to the prison for refurbishment and then returned to the community, giving them a second life while providing reliable transportation to those in need.

We're excited to share that HART will now receive a new supply of refurbished bicycles each month! In this first cycle, HART received five restored bicycles and was able to distribute four to clients during our Freshen Up Shower Program. One additional bicycle needed a flat tire repaired and will be ready to distribute in early August.

HART extends its sincere appreciation to the Cameron Park Rotary Club for including us in this incredible program. The recipients of these bicycles expressed tremendous gratitude, and we're thankful to be able to provide another resource that helps our neighbors move toward stability and independence.

July was another month of hope, compassion, and community!

Because of your generosity and the dedication of our incredible volunteers, HART continued serving our neighbors experiencing homelessness throughout Orangevale and Fair Oaks.

In July we provided:
🚿 66 showers
🍽️ 114 meals
❤️ 11 new clients
👥 46 unique individuals served
🙌 180 volunteer hours

Every shower, every meal, every conversation, and every volunteer hour reminds someone that they are seen, valued, and not alone.

Thank you to everyone who volunteers, donates, and supports HART. Together we're making a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors.

💙 Hope through reconnection....

A family from Orangevale relocated to the east coast a few years ago and subsequently lost contact with a relative who remained behind and was living in a homeless shelter. They recently reached out to us through our website to ask about this person's whereabouts.

Thankfully, we were able to share that their relative is one was one of our clients and was doing well. With everyone's permission, we helped reconnect the family by passing along contact information so they could reconnect after years apart. ❤

Moments like these remind us that our work is about so much more than providing meals, showers, or resources. It's about restoring hope, rebuilding relationships, and reminding people that they are not forgotten.

Thank you to everyone who supports HART. Because of your generosity, we're able to walk alongside our neighbors and help create moments like this every day.

💙 June by the Numbers

Every meal served, every shower provided, every conversation, and every volunteer hour represents a neighbor who was seen, cared for, and supported.

Here's what HART accomplished in June:

🤝 50 unique clients served
🍽️ 100 meals provided
🚿 57 showers offered
💚 129 volunteer hours shared

🏡 Every housing placement is a life changed.

Thank you to our Community Health Worker Partners who continue to play a vital role in HART's mission by attending our Freshen Up Shower sessions and connecting our unsheltered neighbors with essential resources, housing support, healthcare, and other critical services.

Between April and June, this incredible partnership helped secure 7 housing placements, including:
❤️ A family with two children
❤️ A client with significant medical vulnerabilities
❤️ An individual in inpatient recovery
❤️ Another neighbor who achieved permanent housing

These are more than numbers - they're stories of hope, stability, and new beginnings.

Thank you to our Community Health Workers, volunteers, donors, and community partners for making this life-changing work possible. Together, we're helping our neighbors take the next step.

It takes a community to support our unhoused neighbors.💙

We're grateful for our partnership with Community HealthWorks and the nursing students from Chamberlain University who regularly serve alongside HART. 🙌

Together, they're helping provide wound care, blood pressure checks, blood sugar screenings, housing resources, shelter connections, and other critical support services for those who need them most.

Thank you for helping us care for the whole person - not just immediate needs, but long-term health and stability.

Sometimes a little support can make a big impact. ✨

We often see how our unhoused neighbors are working to overcome challenges as they move toward stability. Transportation is just one example. When someone can reliably get to appointments, services, or work, it makes a meaningful difference in their lives.

Recently, with help from our volunteer team, one such neighbor was able to repair his only form of transportation, his bicycle, and soon after, secure employment! He still stops by to say hello.

We’re committed to providing support that helps our neighbors in need restore stability and hope. 💙
