As Teatro Nagual prepares to celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2026, we find ourselves reflecting on a year filled with transformational milestones—many of them made possible by dedicated supporters like you.
In 2025, Teatro Nagual achieved some of the most meaningful accomplishments in our history:
• We became the first Latinx theatre company in Sacramento to produce an Actors’ Equity Association production with our powerful staging of El Borracho by Tony Meneses at The Sofia.
• We were selected by the California Arts Council as an Administering Organization, entrusted to re-grant $240,000 directly to legacy, established, and emerging artists across a five-county region.
• We continued to uplift Latinx stories through national recognition from the National Latinx Theatre Initiative, renewed support from the City of Sacramento, Sacramento County TOT funding, and civic partners who believe in the power of arts to transform communities.
• And we debuted the inaugural Sacramento Theatre Con, where 15 Sacramento based professional and non-professional companies came together to uplift our theatre community.
These achievements are more than milestones—they are the foundation for the next chapter of Teatro Nagual’s story. As we head into our 20th anniversary season, we are committed to expanding opportunities for local artists, creating new bilingual works, elevating youth and emerging talent, and ensuring that Latinx theatre continues to thrive in our region.
To do this, we need your support.
This year, we are launching a special Year-End Anniversary Campaign with a goal of raising $5,000 by December 31, 2025. Your tax-deductible gift will help ensure:
• New works by and for our communities continue to reach the stage,
• Artists are paid fairly and professionally,
• Youth and emerging artists have access to meaningful mentorship and training,
• And Teatro Nagual can enter our 20th year with the resources needed to dream boldly.
Whether you can give $25, $100, $500, or become a sustaining monthly donor, your contribution strengthens the cultural fabric of our community and fuels the stories that deserve to be told.
