Better late than never: A tribute to the world's most misunderstood moms! 🐍🌼

We’re still celebrating the amazing mothers of the wild—including our favorite scaly ones.

While many think of reptiles as "set it and forget it" parents, rattlesnakes can actually be incredibly dedicated mothers. Rattlesnake species give birth to live young and typically stay with their babies for several weeks until their first shed.

These protective moms:
🛡️ Guard their young from predators.
🌡️ Help their babies regulate their body temperature.
🤝 Often huddle in social groups with other mothers to keep all the babies safe.

It’s a beautiful example of maternal care that proves there is so much more to these animals than meets the eye. Cheers to the moms of every species who protect the next generation!

IT’S OFFICIALLY BIG DAY OF GIVING! 🐍🚀

Today is the day! While we are still celebrating the incredible success of SnakeFest (where 900+ of you helped us raise $19,500!), we have one final summit to climb.

Our Goal: Raise $10,000 in 24 hours to reach our Spring Fundraising target.
The Progress: We’ve already hit $6,287!
The Gap: Only $3,713 remains to reach our target.

🐍🎉 SnakeFest 2026 was a HUGE success! 🎉🐍

We are still buzzing from an incredible 5th Annual Sacramento Snake Festival! Hundreds of you joined us at Hagan Community Park on May 2nd to celebrate our snake neighbors and support Save The Snakes' global conservation efforts.

Highlights of the day:
🐍 ~900 enthusiastic community members joined the fun!
💰 Over $19,500 raised for global snake conservation and education!
🎨 A stunning live mural completed by the talented Joey Rose.
