Dedicated to improving the quality of life in the community of Southside Park

SOUTHSIDE PARK is a mixed residential and business community located southwest of the State Capitol. I-5 is the the west boundary, Business 80 on the south, 12th Street on the east and R Street on

the north border the neighborhood. Neighborhood attractions include wide diversity amongst residents, the largest park in the Central City, turn-of-the-century Victorians and Craftsman bungalows along with period-inspired new homes, a community garden, and Sacramento’s largest farmers’ market year-round on Sunday mornings. MONTHLY SPNA GENERAL MEETINGS are held on the 2nd Monday 6:30 pm via Zoom and soon again also at the Southside Park Clubhouse (2115 6th St) Send agenda items, ideas, concerns, or questions to [email protected] or (916) 542-2518 [voicemail]. SPNA ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:
• Sponsoring events to bring neighbors together in a social atmosphere
• Working with businesses located in the neighborhood to balance profitability with residents’ priorities
• Mobilizing neighbors around areas of interest in the community, including periodic volunteer park clean-up days in this era of drastically reduced City staff
• Meeting and advocating with elected officials to voice the concerns and priorities of the neighborhood
• Maintaining a lively neighborhood email discussion group

MEMBERSHIP is open to all residents, property owners, and businesses located in our neighborhood. Annual dues are $10 per household and $50 for a non-resident property owner or business. If you’re not busy tomorrow evening, Friday 12/5, 5:30-7 pm, you should stop by and say “hi” at Tupi Coffee (1901 8th st). We haven’t checked out their rooftop yet, so we’re pretty excited!

Our next general meeting will be this Monday, 11/10 from 6:30 - 7:30 pm, at the Southside Clubhouse (2051 6th st). There will be discussion about SPNA Board elections which happen at our January 12 meeting. We'll have Council member Pluckebaum's office, and we'll meet our new Geographical Lieutenant from Sac PD. Last minute reminder that we're still having our Southside Park Park Cleanup on the 2nd Saturday of every month, from 9-11 am. We meet by the playground and have tools and donuts! Bring your own gloves. Hope to see you tomorrow!
