Hmong Innovating Politics (HIP) ✊ through civic engagement
🌱 Strategic grassroots mobilization

HIP is a grassroots non-profit organization that focuses on building power among historically disenfranchised communities. We work towards creating a more just democracy by elevating the voices of young people, tearing down barriers for our elders and smashing patriarchy and other forms of inequity. WE BELIEVE THAT:
* Communities of all backgrounds are unique and have strengths to contribute to society.
* It is essential to involve communities to create effective policies.
* When all communities are empowered, society changes for the better. FOLLOW HIP ON TWITTER & INSTAGRAM

💥 Vote EARLY, please! 💥

We already have our voter guides dropped, you know how to find ballot boxes, and we’re getting ready to map out vote centers for you!

Your vote is IMPORTANT to our local communities—if it wasn’t, there wouldn’t be billionaires trying their best to buy them through multi-million dollar campaigns, voter intimidation at vote centers, or ballot boxes being burned.

Vote vote vote vote vote! And hold a loved one accountable while you’re at it! ✊🙌🗳️

Not only is it election season, it’s Filipino American History Month!

We highlight why it’s critically important for all of us to not dissociated with historical violences that don’t “directly” impact our communities—spoiler: it does impact our communities!

Between our served regions of Sacramento and Fresno, you used to be able to make a stop by Little Manila in Stockton that honored the booming and growing Filipino communities. It no longer exists to the capacity it once did due to destruction and violent oppression. Read more about the history of Little Manila, and remember: Vote in this upcoming election. 🗳️

By the time we were done cleaning, we were so hungry we forgot to try on the glass slipper. 🧹🧽🫧

Our spaces are intentionally cared for so our community members, program members, and outreach specialists can feel comfortable and connected.

What can we say? Our organizers are really good at organizing!

Never have we ever thought Chris Brown would appear on our fyp and now on our page, but this year’s been filled with surprises. 😭

But in all seriousness, we need you to ask yourself: How does the media I consume directly affect the person I am? We need more self-questioning and reflection in general nowadays.
