Join the Chicano Latino Youth Leadership Project (CLYLP) for our 44th Annual Gala, an evening dedicated to celebrating leadership, opportunity, and the next generation of California changemakers.

For more than four decades, CLYLP has empowered young people through leadership development, civic engagement, college access, and mentorship. This special evening brings together alumni, educators, community leaders, elected officials, and supporters who share a commitment to investing in California’s future leaders.

Your support helps provide transformative leadership experiences for students from across the state, many of whom are first-generation college-bound youth. Together, we are building leaders, strengthening families, and transforming communities.

We are excited to share that CLYLP will be attending and presenting at this year's National Education Summit hosted by UnidosUS!

🎉 Congratulations to our Avanzando to Success students, who have advanced to the final round of the Fund Your Future Pitch Competition. After months of hard work and preparation, they will present their pitch on July 12 at the National Education Summit. We are incredibly proud of these future leaders and grateful for the mentorship provided by our Program Coordinator, Evelin Castañeda.

We are also honored that our Executive Director, Dra. Luisa Ortega, will serve as a panelist for the session, Strengthening Your Personal Brand. Joining PepsiCo industry leaders, she will share valuable insights on how to lead with clarity, confidence, and purpose.

Our Sacramento Fundraiser was a success! CLYLP, in partnership with the California Latino Legislative Caucus, honored two outstanding leaders whose commitment to education and community engagement continues to inspire communities across California: Assemblymember Liz Ortega and Assemblymember Esmeralda Soria.

This week, we had the honor of bringing our youth leaders to the State Capitol for our Legislative Day!

Our alum met directly with legislators and staff to share their CLYLP experience and highlight the impact our programs have made in their lives.

Thank you to all of the legislators and offices who welcomed us and continue to support youth leadership and educational empowerment. Your support helps us create transformative experiences for the next generation of leaders.

It was wonderful to celebrate the 20th anniversary of SoCal CAN, an organization that brings together partners from across Los Angeles to advocate for student success in higher education. Congratulations to ED Alison DeLucco. It was also great to connect with Dr. Day of California State University, Los Angeles and Brodie Olmos of the Latino Theater Company and the groundbreaking film Walkout. Events like these highlight the power of collaboration, representation, and community leadership in shaping opportunities for future generations.

Shout out to Marcos Montes, SoCal CAN Policy Director, proud 2010 California Latino Legislative Caucus Institute Student Leadership Conference alum, and dedicated CLYLP volunteer lead of LAI, on continued efforts to increase representation in academia. Your leadership, advocacy, and commitment to opening doors for future generations continue to make a meaningful impact across our communities.
