Big Day of Giving The next Big Day of Giving is on May 6, 2027. Big Day of Giving is made possible by the hard work of local nonprofits and the dedication of their supporters.

Big Day of Giving is the Sacramento region's day-long giving challenge that has raised over $132 million for area nonprofits since 2013, hosted by the Sacramento Region Community Foundation! A program of the Sacramento Region Community Foundation's initiative to grow philanthropy in the capital area, Big Day of Giving is a 24-hour online giving challenge that brings together the region's nonprofit

community to help raise much needed unrestricted funds and shine a spotlight on the work nonprofits do to make the Sacramento region the place we call home.

What does region look like? If you said "bat viewing season," you'd be correct! Our Chief Impact Officer, Jessica Hubbard, recently went to the Yolo Basin Foundation's Bat Talk & Tour in Davis, where their team of bat experts share facts about their biology (including an up-close and personal feeding demo!) before departing at sunset to watch millions of bats fly out from where they sleep under the Yolo Causeway.
