Bigger Than Us Arts

"Bigger Than Us Arts" - Bringing arts education directly to the community and supporting positive forms of expression.

We are an arts education company that takes the arts directly to the community. We have worked with school sites, after-school programs, churches, neighborhood associations, community leaders and other arts organizations to bring the arts to thousands of people. We are excited about our progress and the voids we are been able to fill in the community.

Different sounds. Different spaces. One community.

From marching bands filling the streets to live performances, hands-on instruments, and the rhythms of percussion, BTU Arts believes music belongs everywhere.

Every instrument is an opportunity to explore. Every performance is a chance to connect. Every experience helps keep music and creativity alive in our communities.

Bring the music to your next event! BTU Arts is available for school programs, community events, live performances, and interactive music experiences.

Music brings a school together.

BTU Arts had an incredible time at Fremont Lopez Elementary, sharing live music, culture, creativity, and connection with the students and staff. From the performances to the students joining in, this is what hands-on arts experiences are all about.

Thank you Fremont Lopez Elementary for welcoming us!

Shoutout to Byron Colborn for continuing to share his love of music both on and off the stage!

From performing throughout the community to teaching the next generation of musicians, Byron continues to show what it means to learn, create, and give back through music.

Proud to have you as part of the BTU Arts family, Byron!

Sometimes the music starts before you even make it through the door.

A look back at Matt and Byron welcoming students with the sound of djembes as they arrived. Moments like this are what BTU Arts is all about—bringing live music up close and creating experiences that students can see, hear, and feel.

And there are plenty more moments like this to come. Keep an eye out for what BTU Arts has planned with our upcoming concert series.

Jose Ortiz has been part of the BTU Arts family since he was just 18 years old.

From playing tuba and performing banda music to becoming a BTU teaching artist, Jose has continued to grow not only as a musician, but as someone who can pass that knowledge on to others.

Today, that journey has taken another step: Jose is now a teacher.

Watching someone grow from a young musician into an educator is exactly the kind of story we’re proud to celebrate. Jose represents what can happen when artists are given opportunities to learn, perform, lead, and eventually inspire the next generation themselves.

We’re proud of you, Jose. Keep making music, keep teaching, and keep making an impact.

A look back at one of the great events BTU Arts had the opportunity to be part of a few months ago.

Good people, live music, and a stage full of talented musicians coming together to create something special. Moments like these are what it’s all about—sharing music, connecting with the community, and enjoying the experience together.

Always grateful for the opportunity to make music.

This is what music looks like when it brings people together.

Brass in the air, rhythm moving through the crowd, and everyone sharing the same moment. Sometimes you don’t need much more than good music and good people.

These are the moments we love being part of.
