That is true across healthcare, but in hospice, it matters even more. Hospice is deeply personal. You're walking alongside patients and families during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.

Scott was clear about where AI does not belong:
Day-to-day caregiver interactions
Comfort at the bedside
Anything that attempts to replace human presence

If someone you love is nearing the end of life, no one wants an AI-generated voice saying, "Everything is going to be okay."
The opportunity isn't AI making clinical decisions. It's helping clinicians capture the right information in the field.

Did the clinician record the vital signs? Measure the wound? Take the required photo? Does the documentation accurately reflect the care that was provided?

Scott's message was simple:
AI should be the assistant—not the authority.
It's a perspective every healthcare leader should consider.
