🇺🇸 Honoring Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Today, the Capitol City Black Nurses Association honors and remembers the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

As nurses and community leaders, we recognize the importance of service, compassion, and sacrifice — values shared by those who gave their lives for our freedom.

This Memorial Day, we pause to reflect, remember, and honor our fallen heroes and the families who carry their legacy forward.

Today, we celebrate the heart of healthcare — nurses. 💛

On this National Nurses Day, the Capitol City Black Nurses Association honors the dedication, compassion, leadership, and resilience of nurses everywhere. From the bedside to the boardroom, nurses continue to advocate, heal, educate, and uplift our communities every single day.

We especially celebrate Black nurses whose impact, excellence, and legacy continue to shape the future of healthcare while advancing equity and representation in our profession.

Thank you for the long shifts, the gentle words, the strength, and the compassion you give so freely.

Happy Nurses Day from CCBNA! 🩺✨

Celebrating impact, legacy, and the future of nursing 💙✨

We are proud to highlight our CCBNA member and Past President, Sheree Smith, for representing us at the 1st Annual Blossoms & Brims Nursing Scholarship Luncheon hosted by the Omicron Eta Eta Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc.

Also in attendance were our dedicated CCBNA members Cheryl Hughes and Dawn Marie—showing up, supporting, and continuing our commitment to community and service.

This beautiful event poured into the next generation of nurses—and we are especially proud that CCBNA contributed a scholarship to support that mission.

Meet one of the incredible scholarship recipients, Aza Gise—a nursing student, Army veteran, wife, and mother of four. Her journey is rooted in service, inspired by strong nursing role models, and driven by a passion for compassionate, culturally responsive care. Her goal to serve women and families in obstetrics and gynecology is exactly the kind of purpose-driven leadership our communities need.

This is what it looks like when we invest in the future. 💫

Thank you to Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. for creating such a meaningful space and for your continued commitment to education, service, and the nursing profession.

Together, we are shaping a brighter, healthier future. 💙

Yesterday, April 18, CCBNA showed up for the community at the Sierra Donor Services Donor Dash 💚

Our amazing volunteers connected with attendees by handing out fresh vegetables, sharing valuable diabetes education, and providing resources on Type 2 diabetes prevention and management. Moments like these remind us that small, intentional actions can make a big impact on community health.

At CCBNA, we are committed to uplifting and empowering the communities we serve—because when our community thrives, we all thrive.

A heartfelt thank you to Sierra Donor Services for the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful event. We look forward to continuing this important work together!
