Her work is inspired by her ancestors – the ones who created food that tasted like home with the herbs of their new land. Their ingredients were simple: nuts, shredded veggies, sweet sauce. But the resulting meal was always grand. Suri likes to think she does the same with everyday words.

The DREF Sister Scholars’ National Reading Circle will host a virtual book discussion on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, 7:30-9:00pm EST. This year’s event will feature SHIRLEY CHISHOLM IN HER OWN WORDS, Speeches and Writings Edited by DREF Sister Scholar, Zinga A. Fraser, Ph.D.
