This article raises an important point: allyship isn’t just about what we say—it’s about when and how consistently we show up. Research shows that support expressed only during Pride Month can feel less authentic to the very communities it’s meant to support.

That’s why our new LGBTQ+ 101 training focuses on building year‑round inclusion, not performative moments. Real allyship requires ongoing learning, intentional action, and accountability—every month of the year. Visit saccenter.org/training to book a training with us today!

When companies cluster LGBTQ+ support around Pride Month, their messages can feel less authentic. Research shows identical statements are received more positively, particularly by LGBTQ+ audiences, when shared at other times of year. Widespread, simultaneous messaging can signal external pressure ra...

This week brought a powerful step forward for transgender young people across the country. A federal judge has struck down the Kennedy Declaration—the policy that threatened to cut off Medicare and Medicaid funding from any hospital providing gender‑affirming care for trans youth. The ruling applies nationwide and immediately removes the federal pressure that led dozens of hospitals to shut down their programs earlier this year.
As we head into Big Day of Giving on May 7, your support fuels the Sacramento LGBT Community Center’s work to protect and uplift LGBTQ+ youth right here at home. From mental health services and housing support to advocacy and community programs, your gift helps ensure that every young person has access to safety, affirmation, and care.

And remember: our services are here for you, free of charge. If you or someone you know is seeking support, we offer:

Mental Health Services
✅ Youth counseling for ages 13–24
✅ Adult counseling for ages 25+ Learn more or request services at saccenter.org/mental-health

Sexual Health Services
✅ STI testing and treatment
✅ PrEP navigation
✅ Sexual health education and resources Explore services at saccenter.org/sexual-health

Celebrate this victory by investing in the future we’re building together

It's Le***an Visibility Week! Our le***an community has been a huge pillar in advocacy and community and this week is one where we shine the light on their incredible contributions. From stepping in to nurse AIDS patients in the 80's, to leading us in the Sac Pride March, they have stood up for community and model how to live with Pride 🧡 🤍 🩷

On Trans Day of Visibility, we take time to honor our trans community. The trans community has always been at the front of LGBTQ+ movements, and we are all here still fighting together. We fight for a world where ALL rights are human rights, where ALL people are treated with respect and dignity wherever they go, and for a world where ALL LGBTQ+ people can THRIVE.

Join us today as we say "thank you" to our trans community that continues to help build a stronger tomorrow 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈
