Hi, I’m Andrey Voytenko, and I’m from Vancouver, Washington. After ACTS Academy, I was sent on a mission to Catania, Italy. This mission taught me so much and gave me the opportunity to reflect deeply on who I am and what my role is as a Christian.
I say this because we were serving Ukrainian refugees who had lost everything, and on top of losing everything, many of them had lost hope. We, as Christians, carry a hope for a better life within us, even though our lives are already amazing. Our job as Christians is simply to represent Christ and the hope we have in Him. That’s why we seek the Lord and get to know Him, so that we might become more like Him.
I say all this to say that the biggest lesson God taught me was the importance of representing Christ. Now that the mission has ended, I can’t help but think about how someone we served would describe me as a person and how much of my character truly reflects Christ.
